Revdex.com Service Agent,I live at the [redacted]. They bundle my utilities with the exception of electric in my rent. I began living on August 14, 2015 and currently reside at these apartment. I am a student. I have verbally asked them on my move in date if they could repair the internet connection to my apartment. Within 2 weeks they changed the internet provider to a community wifi system. This new system fluctuates and is intermittent with conductive and band speed for the past 8 months with no success or improvements with the service. I have requested from my landlords if they could look into the service provided. They told me that I need to contact the internet provider (it is not their responsibility). I have tried to contact the provider but the provider will not communicate with because I am not their direct customer. I write this to you to better understand how to better resolve this issue. Please contact me.Respectfully,[redacted]Product_Or_Service: Optics Media InternetDesired SettlementI would like an internet service connection with consistent conductivity so that I may do my school work successfully. (A criteria for choosing living space was good internet. They said they had it. I am a computer science major and when projects get lost due to faulty internet services it is extremely frustrating.) Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Property ManagerContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]Sterling Sierra is now The Republic and their address is 1550 Evans Avenue, Reno, NV 89512 and is [redacted]'s current residence. Sterling Summit is located at 2780 Enterprise Road, Reno, NV 89512 and is the community [redacted] is moving to this fall. Sterling Summit is a new development and we won't have any residents living in the community until our grand opening / move-in day on Monday, August 15, 2016 starting at 8am. I spoke with [redacted] this morning and he apologized for the mix up stating that his dad helped him write/file the complaint with the Revdex.com and that his dad mixed up the two properties and forgot that Sterling Sierra is now The Republic. I also spoke to Assistant Manager, [redacted], at The Republic this morning, and assured [redacted] that someone from The Republic will be in touch to resolve this issue with him. Final Business Response [redacted]Document Attached[redacted] internet issues have been resolved. This is the first we have heard about unresolved issues. [redacted] (our internet provider) reached out to [redacted] and was able to establish quality connection. [redacted] is aware that internet issues are resolved through the internet provider directly. However, we are available in the office to assist in any way if issues are unresolved.

There are several issues with this apartment complex. 1) Representative False Selling; 2) Harassment; 3) Alleged false contract; 4) Billing I spoke to a Republic Apt representative (a salesperson in apartment office) who persuaded me to lock in a "apartment" room rate as of Apr 2016. The rep indicated that all I was required to do is pay a $150 "registration fee" at which time, she help me while on the phone to go online to a website provided by here. She related that in order to reserve a apt rate at that time they would do a make sure I passed a credit check with this $150 fee. I followed here instructions, which only took a few minutes. I asked her about if we opted out of room before a move in date which was going to be this August 2016. She related that there would be a $350 fee but she could "waive" it. So I completed the registration and during the end of May 2016, I contacted the Republic office to cancel the $150 room rate because my son would not be able to move to Reno. They office indicated to me that I "couldn't" get out of the room becuase I HAD ENTERED into a 12 month lease with Republic. I adamantly told them that I NEVER signed a lease and that they need to cancel the reservation. They sent me a lease which was not a lease with my name on it. Then they sent me another lease (16 pages) that had an electronic signature on it with my name on it from the day I was online and submitted the registration credit check instructions (April 7, 2016). I've contacted the Office Manager ([redacted]) several times to relate to her that I never entered into a 12 month lease and she needed to remove my son from the registration room rate. She related that "we" had to get a replacement otherwise she couldn't release me from the lease. I was blown away and told her that she could easily give the room to the next person that needs a room with her apartment. She related that they have to be 100% occupancy "according" to the lease I never seen before. Further, I contacted here in May, June, and July!Product_Or_Service: Registration for Credit CheckAccount_Number: 12 Month leaseDesired SettlementI request that this scheme be revealed and the apartment's registration process be changed. There is no way this business can falsely associated a registration and credit check to lock a room rate in April 2016 for a 12 month (16 page) lease beginning in August 2016 and expect the registered person to pay for a 12 month lease he/she cancels in May 2016. This is absurd, HOWEVER, the apartment complex is threatening for me to pay the 12 month lease otherwise they will send to collections. HELP!Final Consumer Response

I visited the apartment complex to see the new units on 10/30/15. I was misled and deceitfully treated when the leasing agent, [redacted], did not disclose to me that I was executing a 12 month lease beginning in 8/2016. The leasing agent continually pushed me to sign up and save a spot as the complex was filling up. I told him that I could not afford the unit and further, I needed to get my parents approval first. He further pushed and coerced me into filling out the paperwork, saying that I had nothing to lose and if I changed my mind, it was no problem. A week later when I was contacted by the office, I let them know that I could not afford the unit. It was at that time that the leasing agent [redacted] informed me that I the forms I filled out were for a lease and that I was bound by that. He stated that if I wanted to get out of it, I would have to pay a $350 termination fee. At no time during the tour did he tell me of any of the terms of the deal, nor did he say I was signing a lease. And when he was asked if this was going to cost anything, he stated it was not and that we had nothing to lose. He could have said that there would be a $350 fee to terminate the deal when we asked him about the cost question. He did not. He chose to mislead me and acted in bad faith by not fully disclosing all of the information. Not only do I feel that I have been taken advantage of because I am a young female college student, but now I am wondering if they are maliciously trapping students with this method and then banking on them just paying the $350 fee so that they can make extra revenue. I am fearful that this is going to affect other young college students and this needs to stop.Desired SettlementI would like to be released from any and all responsibility of this alleged lease. I only wanted to look at the new place, and did not intend to enter into any contract. Had I known that the agent was wanting me to sign a lease, I would have most definitely denied and left the office.Business Response We have been in contact with [redacted] and [redacted] and have found a suitable resolution for the [redacted] for which they were very grateful. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.
