The rent on our studio apartment is $per month, with a 10% increase on a six month lease There are additional charges for unit upgrades, such as new carpet, appliances, 1st floor, etc The unit selected by Mr [redacted] is on the first floor and has new carpet When he moved in and signed his paperwork, the lease contract reflected the upgrade fees With a balance due on his account, Mr [redacted] 's son was contacted on the 4th of the month and was told that his rent was not paid in full He was also notified that if the balance was not paid he would be charged late fees in accordance with the lease contract Because he failed to pay the balance for several days, his late fees continued to accrue on his account Mr [redacted] contacted the leasing office and stated that he refused to pay the balance due With this statement, the required legal notices were delivered to his son's apartment so that any legal action could be implemented if necessary Immediately, the balance was paid in full and the eviction process was halted Although the legal contract states the rent is set at $830, the application does state the rent would be $ I am unable to reverse the late fees for February, but in an effort to resolve the issue, I am happy to adjust the rent amount going forward to $
