I am writing this letter to Affordable Remodelers because of the great job your company did this summer on the renovation of my family home From the first time I met with Cory R when he came out to bid on the job, I felt a great sense of comfort putting our home in his hands The renovation included the kitchen, living room and hallway, small bathroom downstairs and the larger bathroom upstairs The main scope of work included tile floors, painting, quartz countertops, vanity and fixtures, shower and fixtures, tiling wall sections, wainscot, drywall, plumbing, lights, electric updates, among other items
The lake house was built by my parents, the original part in and the addition in the mid-70's The love and workmanship that my dad put into this home was an essential element for the remodel job this summer I knew, as soon as I talked with Cory, that he understood the basic premise that my dad's work was to be accentuated and complemented, not over run
Cory allowed me to be at ease with the entire projectHe assured me that the best tile and wood man would be doing the job Tom was that man I can't even tell you how great Tom was doing the renovation His knowledge and craftsmanship is all I could have hoped for On the first day, I overheard Cory telling Tom about my dad building the house and keeping that fact as the main focus of the job And they certainly did Their trustworthiness was beyond reproach Their expertise was obvious Their professionalism and great dispositions everyday was appreciated and enjoyed
As part of the contract, Cory offered to meet with me at any store to help pick out materials, but I took that on myself They provided the calculations on material needed, and offered suggestions as needed I had my vision for the renovation's final look, and what I thought would honor my parent's home in the greatest way
From tile to paint to baseboards, ever bit of the renovation was handled with the greatest care Tom made sure that baseboards that were from the 1950's were matched Cory and Tom created a hanging light fixture for the kitchen that was made from the original wood siding
Tom's tile work was perfection Cory's work with the drywall and paint were excellent He painted the vanity and cabinets that my father had made, creating a modern and chic bathroom Between my vision for the redesign and their exceptional work, we now have an updated lake house that will be enjoyed for many years to comeI could not be happier, and all my friends who watched the renovation via Face Book this summer were amazed and pleased with the end resultI know that my folks would have appreciated the excellent job Affordable Remodelers did on their beloved home We are all smiling
I appreciated that the owner, Kevin, came out to see my house and the job that was being done I understand this is a family owned business, and that reputation and a good name is everything to a small company My father owned a small business, and his reputation was everything to him in keeping the business going and profitable I was diligent in finding just the right company to do this renovation I interviewed and received three bids Although the budget was a major consideration, I would not hire any company that did not keep the integrity of my father's home in mind I went with Affordable Remodelers because of that reason Their bid was very fair and their reviews were excellent And after talking with Cory on two separate interviews, I knew this was the right company for our renovation I was per cent right I just cannot say enough great things about Cory, Tom, Chad (the plumber), and Affordable Remodelers of Valpo

No such thing as "affordable" with these guys. Misrepresented their expertise: after they got carpeting wrong, they said " well, we're really not in the carpeting business ". Subbed out all jobs - did nothing themselves. One part of job was given to a friend who was out of work and needed something to do. Interior doors stained poorly, then found out some were done by son of their paint guy. Admitted they were poorly stained and said "thought I taught my kid better than that ". Sometimes days would go by with no communication - never knew if someone was going to show up. Estimated 3 week job turned into over 2 months. More concerned about getting their money than customer satisfaction. We paid them off so we didn't have to deal with them anymore even though there were still small, touch up things to finish. Would never recommend them to anyone.

As with any sort of construction project there was a couple of bumps in the road,but that is to be expected and everything all came together in the end. I would not hesitate to recommend Affordable Remodelers to anyone.
I will be in contacting them again next spring when it is time to remodel my kitchen.

Today Affordable Remodelers carpenter came out to install two windows in my kitchen. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Everything turned out great and he left the work site very clean. I hope to have them help me with some other projects this winter.
