Revdex.com:I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined it does not resolve the complaint.  The purchase was made through Mr. Jay S[redacted], the owners brother.  He was a true gentlemen who made our initial experience with Steinberger Flooring a pleasant one addressing product selection, cost and payment structure.  Jay was a very professional individual who understood the word "CUSTOMER" so much that he warned me about his brother the owner, Mr. David S[redacted].  Yes, it took 3 years but now it's clear what he wanted us to know about his brother - he has no idea what that word "CUSTOMER" means.  We will never again buy from Steinberger Flooring and are seriously considering posting our negative comments on all social media sites.  We respectfully request the Revdex.com to maintain this reply as an unresolved claim on your site.     [redacted]

As I expressed earlier, it is his prerogative to terminate the contract. I totally deny  that I terminated the contract. Does it make sense when I paid him extra $1100 for a work that was not in the contract and then I demand a discount? Does it make sense if I pay him and then try to get it back from him? If that is true I needn't have paid him extra in the first place. I could have bargained then. Overall, his claim does not have any rationale. It's a bizarre claim.Okay, I just want to make sure that the 10 year guarantee/warranty on the work still stands. Revdex.com, can you please make sure that the guarantee as mentioned in the original contract when I signed and paid the money still stands? He cannot avoid/deny that just because he does not like to work for me. I want a commitment from him on that.[redacted]

FAX: ###-###-#### Claim # [redacted]In regards to your letter dated 3/1/16 regarding the claim  filed by [redacted], we would like to submit our rebuttal for the carpet that was installed February 2013.Mr. [redacted] is mistaken on several points. He never bought any installation...

problmes to our attention. In fact he seemed to make it a point to ignore us  when we contacted him for payment instead of voicing any concerns he had about "poor installation". Had we been notified, we would have addressed the problem. We only resorted to considering legal action as it took 6 months to receive payment in full with no reason behind it (Documentation attached)He is also mistaken on the amount of his bill. The total was $4496.54. He neglects to mention we gave credit for in-stock carpeting we used around his Jacuzzi. (A copy of our invoice is attached.) To be clear - we NEVER heard a word from Mr. [redacted] for years after installation until his recent request for a restretch. I would think a problem he claims to have had from the beginning would have been brought to our attention immediately. As explained in the letter we sent him on 2/26/16, (attached) our installation is warranted for a year, two years under good terms. Mr. [redacted] has long since past the one year date as his carpeting was has installed in February of 2013. We don't consider someone who we have to threaten legal action to a "Very Good Customer" as he states he Is in his claim, however that is irrelevant as he is past the 2 year mark also. Carpeting that has been down for several years can be subject to many things that can make it ripple.Humidity, excessive waterbased cleaning, heavy items dragged across it, and aging are all factors that can contribute to the problem. We have no idea what it has been subject to after we install. It is  absurd to blame our installation 3 years later. Steinberger Floors has been in business for 38 years. In all of that time I believe we only had two claims by the Revdex.com that were unfounded. Our record speaks for itself.Sincerely,David S[redacted] VP, Steinberger Floors

The company responded via phone as follows: The company stated the consumer can refer to his warranty on his contract.

Review: Poor carpet installation has been causing rippling effects in our living room. We purchased about $5,000 dollars worth of carpeting from Steinberger Flooring in January 2013 and were never satisfied with their installation. As a result, we tried to retain 10% until it was done properly. Their owner, Mr. David St[redacted] threatened legal action in writing to get that final payment. We reluctantly made it in August 2013. Since that time, as expected the problem has been getting worse. Recently, we made (4) calls requesting a home inspection but Mr. S[redacted] never had the common courtesy to return our call. Instead he mailed a letter stating it would require a $350.00 advance payment to re-stretch the carpet due to our late payment at time of purchase. Note, 90% was paid on-time. they should have corrected the problem during the initial installation / they didn't, we paid in full - now they should correct it at no charge and provide a new warranty.Desired Settlement: Re-stretch carpeting in living room to eliminate all areas where rippling is present and provide new warranty.

Mr. St[redacted] should apologize for his unprofessional behavior and treatment of a very good customer.

We were insulted by his comments and handling of this matter then and especially now.
