Review: I obtained five bids for a backyard excavation job at our home. Steel City Landscaping was the cheapest by about $700. I also found the owner [redacted] to be very professional and organized so I chose to go with his company. After starting the job, they realized that they had to move more fill than expected so I was told that the job was underbid; which somehow became my fault. I agreed to pay an additional $639 so that they would finish the job. Then they STILL skimped me on removing the fill in order to save money. The grading work performed falls substantially short of the work agreed upon within the estimate provided by Steel City Landscaping. The estimate states "excavate back yard slope another 30-40' towards property line."Desired Settlement: We request that Steel City Landscaping either return to complete the work as agreed or provide a refund equal to the amount necessary to have the work completed properly by another company.

Review: We had new retaining walls built alongside our driveway. When the estimator came out he gave us a replacement price that we agreed upon. Two months later when the job was started I mentioned to the worker that the drainage pipe behind the wall was not doing a good job draining out the water. They said that they replace them. Nothing else was ever mentioned about it. I also paid half of the estimate price that day on my credit card for them to get started. After the wall was complete and I received my invoice there was an additional charge of $365 for fixing my downspout. When I called to dispute this charge I was told that they had to do all of this work on my downspout which was never mentioned to me nor was I informed that this would be an additional charge. They basically put a PVC pipe on my downspout which I could've done for the price of the PVC. While I was discussing this with the office I was [redacted] one side and down the other and basically treated as if I was a deadbeat who would't pay my bill. I was more than willing to pay the bill I was aware of. I even had an addendum to my bill that I had approved for extra work and they still never told me about this "downspout problem" This company was extremely un-professional and did damage to not just my yard but my neighbors yard that my husband and I had to fix after the fact at addition charge to us.Desired Settlement: Just lodging a complaint to protect other people from this company
