Mr Jeff W had an issue with moisture being detected inside a bedroom of his rental property that the renters pointed out, he filed a claim and I was called to perform an initial inspection. I arrived to perform an inspection and advised him on the steps he needed to take especially considering it was an outside water source and coverage would have been questionable by his carrier due to that fact alone. If he didn't. have flood insurance it wouldn't have been covered regardless. He had a high deductible to boot whereas he felt the carrier should have just cared for it but it would have been a high out of pocket expense. I recommended he perform minor fixes himself to save a claim and not have to worry about paying another vendor for these repairs. I explained very clearly to him as any professional would do that I have a minimum for my services which was 300.00. He then, after I had performed work and received my invoice told me he didn't agree with my minimum charge and wanted a breakdown. I provided a breakdown in a line itemized invoice which was higher calculating my time and effort put into this assignment as an aim to help him. He still didn't agree. There was nothing I could have said or done to reason with an unreasonable human being. I've helped thousands of people and along the way you meet these few folks who have no sense, patience or himan reasoning and are impossible to please no matter how much one may try in this service industry. I invited Mr Jefferey W to meet in person so I can provide a solution and make it right but he would not take make calls. I have saved emails to prive my professionalism and he decided upon himself to pay me only 75.00 for my time invested in trying to help him.
Owner vernescu arrived per allstate for a claim filed reference a unknown moisture issue on a bedroom rug possibly caused by heavy rains..
Vernescu advised a small area was moist and advised to drop the claim..vernescu offered his service outside the claim to pull up the rug, replace the padding and determine the area of the possible problem..vernescu did not draw up an invoice for the service..
Vernescu placed a fan overnight, returned to check the carpet and padding..He did not replace the padding and did not look for the area where the leak may have occurred..
Vernescu charged me $300.00 to place a small fan in the bedroom and when asked why the cost was so high via email, he created an invoice to reflect $300.00.
I advised him his initial assessment and the work he was going to perform was unsatisfactory and did not match the work that was done..I also said the price was unfair, deceptive and deceiving for just a fan to dry the area..Vernescu never responded..
