Mr. [redacted] stayed at our hotel at an employee rate with the approval of management for 1 night, because he was a relative of one of our employees, [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] checked out after one night and then decided to stay another, his reservation was extended without management...

approval.  He checked back in to the hotel at 4:39 pm on 09/17/16, however he did not report any complaints about the room until about 12:33 am when his relative [redacted] came on shift.  Per our hotel policy employees are not to make credit adjustments without the approval of a manager, however [redacted] decided to adjust off the second night of Mr. [redacted]'s stay because of the complaints he made.  We later found that his complaints and accusations were false.  After researching the situation the upper management team decided that the credit made to Mr. [redacted] was not justified and then charged him for the second night he stayed.  Along with this, [redacted] was terminated from the hotel for theft.  Before charging Mr. [redacted]'s card and terminating our employee we filed a case with our IHG corporate office, we were advised not to issue a credit of any kind to Mr. [redacted] and his IHG Rewads account was flagged for fraudulent activity.  Mr. [redacted] called the hotel to discuss the issue further and was notified that he would not be receiving a refund and he threatened the hotel with a lawsuit.  Attached you will find documentation from our property management system as well as the case management from IHG.
