Review: This complaint is two-fold. One for the promoter of this event, that goes by many names ([redacted]), the other is the event host, Statusz night club.The event (NYE party, "drop the ball") was promoted as one of the largest in the city, with over 1,200 tickets sold, the VIP package, for which we paid the tickets for was advertised as: "Spend your night High Above the crowd over looking all of the action. Includes 5 hour Top Shelf open bar and food, butlered hors d'oeuvres, private mezzanine only open bar, access to exclusive VIP area, express entry into event bypassing general admission."The event venue was changed last minute, but was promised that everything would remain the same.Myself, and about a group of 8 of us showed up to the event at Statuz to what can only be described as complete and total false advertising. The place was dangerously packed, and for an event that had sold 1,200 tickets to, the health signs posted prominently on the walls said the clubs capacity was only about 350, by law. We went to the "VIP" section, which was essentially an attic, and proceeded to be told that there was no alcohol bar upstairs and that we would have to go to the general admission area for drinks (which was 2 bars, 8 total bartenders, for an event that was supposed to host 1200 people). There were no butlered hors d'oeuvres, just a table of cold cut hoagies and cookies in the general population area that people picked from. Conditions were so poor that we left about 15 minutes after arriving.I have followed up with both the promoter and Statuz nightclub asking for a refund. The promoter told me it was not their responsibility, and that Statuz was responsible for this.
