Dodge Nitro from our dealership on 2/24/16 for $6980 not the $10,000 she is claiming. The vehicle did come with a three month or 4500 mile powertrain warranty which, indeed, expired when the problem came to be. We explained to Ms. [redacted] that we would contact [redacted] Warranty Company on her behalf, which we did, but [redacted] would not make any exceptions. We then received a call from the garage stating the water pump had failed and Ms. [redacted] kept driving the vehicle which caused more damage resulting in blowing the head gaskets. After my conversation with the garage, I received a call from the customer and was sworn at, called names and threatened. I hung up the phone; I wasn't going to listen to her vulgarity. Two days later her father came to our dealership asking if there was anything we could do to help. I told him I would speak with the owner, explain the situation and see if we could help. After speaking with him, he was willing to help with $500-$600 of the total bill which is $1500. I called the father and told him what we were willing to do. He thanked me and appreciated the help since he was the one who was going to have to pay.I'm a single father and can appreciate the frustration of something this unfortunate. But I think we have been more than fair. Also, we can't control how much money Ms. [redacted] pays for a rental car.Sincerely, Thomas M[redacted]Manager

Review: I bought a car from Starter Cars that broke down from a bad water pump, but I didn't realize it at the time. Then the bad pump warped the head, which means it needs a costly repair. I bought the car on 2/24/16. It broke down on 5/27/16. It had a three month warranty. They refuse to honor the warranty, so my dad said he would pay for it, but it has been sitting in their garage for almost a month now, and they haven't fixed it. I asked them to hurry because I'm paying for a rental car and have spent over $1000 on that, but now they are taking their time. First they said they would fix the water pump and serpentine belt, because the warranty only expired 3 days prior, but once they found the pump had warped the head, they refused to fix anything. In my opinion, they sold me the car with a bad water pump because it can take months for them to warp the head. I feel it is their responsibility to honor the warranty and just fix the car. I have called several times and they refuse to answer my calls, or call me back. My father, my mother, and my aunt have all tried to talk to them to resolve this issue, and they refuse to answer any of their calls or emails. I am a young, naive, single mother and don't know much about cars. I feel they took advantage of me through the whole process, and now they are telling me that it was my fault the car broke down and they refuse to do anything to help. They sold me a lemon, and are sticking me with it. The price was outrageous to begin with, but I needed a car. Is there anything you can do to help?Desired Settlement: I would like them to honor the warranty and fix the car. I cannot afford to keep paying for a rental car, and I cannot afford the repairs and I would like it done as soon as possible. Thank-you.
