I hired Mark M*** of Stars and Stripes Construction for a large renovation for my house in V***, VAWe agreed on the milestones and payment scheduleAfter paying him the initial, largest scheduled payment, Mark did not return for weeks, and when he did so, after many phones, he asked for more money for the first milestoneI refused to pay because, my thinking was, if he miscalculated by a factor of 50% on the initial step, he would do so on the remaining steps and workMoreover, we did get a full judgment against Mark in Fairfax County Court, but to date, not a penny has been paidDo not be tricked by his expensive cars and other waysNow, I know of other home owners who paid him and the work was never completed

After paying him the initial, largest scheduled payment, Mark did not return for weeks, and when he did so, after many phones, he asked for more money for the first milestone. I refused to pay because, my thinking was, if he miscalculated by a factor of 50% on the initial step, he would do so on the remaining steps and work.
Moreover, we did get a full judgment against Mark in Fairfax County Court, but to date, not a penny has been paid. Do not be tricked by his expensive cars and other ways. Now, I know of 2 other home owners who paid him and the work was never completed.
