Review: I [redacted] and my son took my 2005 van to get fix the front brakes was making noise. Therefore, Once I arrived at Star auto service I explain to [redacted]. is one of the gentlemen that was assisting my son and I. I explain that I need front because due to them grinding and making noise. They the employees look at the brakes maybe an hour or so later let us know that it was not the front brakes that it was the back brakes making the noise. I disagreed however, they convince me that I was wrong. Therefore, they fix the back brakes that cost me $350.69. A week later the front brakes went out like I told them and I paid another $223.52. Two days after the brakes was still making noise like I had not had any repairs. I took it back again the people that works there had bad attitude with me. Refuse to check the vehicle out said I need to drive it for awhile. Never the less the vehicle never sound better just worse. My son took the vehicle back the next time they still refuse to look at it. Here it is January and my son and I have talk to all kind of church members auto mechanics to see what we can do to resolve this issue. All I want is the brakes fix correctly seeing that I have paid my money.Desired Settlement: Refund so I can take the vehicle somewhere else to be fix.

RE: [redacted] complaint.
Complaint ID No. [redacted]
On 11-16-2013 [redacted] and her son arrived at STAR Auto Service about an issue with
her vehicle making grinding noise she believed was from the front brakes. Upon inspection of both
front and rear brakes of the vehicle, it was deemed that the rear brakes are the main cause of the
grinding noise and that both the front and rear brakes needed to be replaced. The customer was advised
of the findings yet refused to have the front pads replaced as she did not want to spend too much money
on fixing the vehicle. After the customer agreed, the rear brake pads and wheel cylinders were replaced
and the customer left the shop satisfied and drove the vehicle for an entire week with no complaint.
On 11-23-2013, the customer came back to the shop and requested the brakes be inspected
again. Star Auto Service inspected the vehicle and found the front brake pads in worst condition than
they were a week earlier and based on the previous recommendations of the service writer “[redacted].”
STAR Auto Service replaced the front brake pads as agreed by the customer. The vehicle was driven
again and there was no noise at all and the customer left again, satisfied.
On 01/04/2014 after 1 day of complaining to the Revdex.com the customer brought the vehicle back to
Star Auto Service with a complaint of a “squeaky” noise. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the front
brake pads were found to be extremely overheated and had cracks in them with hot spots on the rotors.
This condition is usually due to extreme braking due to hard braking. Regardless of the reason, Star
Auto Service replaced the front rotors and brake pads at no cost to the customer. Attached is a copy of
the invoice that shows no charge for the replacement of the rotors and brake pads.
The customer made fallacious and misleading statements as she was never dealt with in a rude
manner nor was she refused service on 11-23-2013 and purposely left out the fact that Star Auto
Service replaced the front rotors and brake pads on 01-04-2014. When telling her story to her alleged
Church members, auto mechanics and others she mentions in her misleading statements, she may want
to include all the repairs and suggestions made to her and her son including the service writer ([redacted].)'s
suggestion that the vehicle be driven in a better and safe manner in order to keep her vehicle in a good
and safe driving condition to avoid future failures of other essential safety issues with her vehicle.
Since both the front and rear brake pads, rotors, wheel cylinders were all replaced we decline
her request for a refund, since we have done the repairs properly and every time she left our shop there
was not a single problem with the vehicle.
Sincerely,
Star Auto Service.
