Hi Gabriel,

I hope this finds you feeling better. Thank you for letting us know about what happened at our *** Road location. It sounds like we missed the mark of our own high standards of customer service, and we’ll be following up with the team at the store as to the potential real-life consequences of even a single lapse. For starters, our team should have pointed out, as they’re meant to do with every customer, that our “Gluten-Less” donuts, while made with a gluten-free recipe, are prepared using shared equipment and fried in the same oil as our other donuts, which creates a risk of cross contamination that may be problematic for folks with severe allergies. We’ve got signs on the donut case at all stores mentioning this, but our team is trained to also talk about it and clearly they could have done a better job. We’ll be revisiting that with them and with the rest of our staff across all locations, as it is indeed serious stuff.

As a token of our regret for the pain the donut caused and our appreciation for hearing about it, I’d love to invite you back for a coffee and a half dozen of our gluten-less donuts (if you’re interested and the cross contamination risk is not an issue) on the house in the form of a gift card. If you don’t mind sending me an email at jb*** with an address where I can send one, I’ll get it in the mail this week.
