Review: I contracted with Stanley Kaplan for 24 hours of private tutoring. I specified that we needed someone to be available for the 4 weeks prior to the test in June 2013. The tutor they sent left after a month to go to med school, leaving my son stranded for the most important 4 weeks before the SAT 2 test in June 2013. I complained to Geneen D[redacted] of Kaplan, who offered a refund. Told her I would wait to see if they could fufill the contract the following June. By March of 2014 it was obvious she had no tutor for us, so I asked for my refund. 11 hours at $200 per hour. She told me to send back all my books first, then she would issue the refund. I sent the books back, paid about $50 to do so in May. Have not gotten my refund. Have emailed her numerous times, called, got no answer. In my opinion, no one should ever use Stanley Kaplan tutoring services. We finally found a tutor close to home and would never recommend Kaplan to any one.Desired Settlement: I want a check for the full amount of the tutoring hours not used, which is part of their refund policy. The hours unused shoudl be refunded immediately. $2200.00
