My vehicle's key fob failed 2 years ago. I paid $186 for a new one from this dealership. Now, that replacement key fob has failed. I went back to the dealership to see about getting a new one and to complain about having these things fail every 2 years. They wanted $157 PLUS a fee for "programming" the key (which takes 5 minutes and now even box hardware stores can do, usually for free) bringing the total back up to $186. I was stunned they would charge me another programming fee for an obviously faulty product. I said I would pay for the key fob, but I wanted them to waive the programming fee because IT"S THE SECOND TIME! The service manager refused. I then talked with the owner and he refused after snidely asking had I purchased the vehicle from him (you see where his concern lies). I replied that no, I didn't buy the vehicle there, but I bought the key fob there. He was unconcerned.
I finally called the manufacturer who did express concern. They gave me a FREE service contract that not only covers the faulty key fob, but also free towing and road side assistance. That is how a business should be run in my opinion. So, I contacted the dealership again to set up a service department appointment and I was treated very, very rudely. I was told that I may still have to pay because the service contract was "so new". Needles to say, I wouldn't buy a toothless mule from Stallings Motor of Cairo, Georgia. The good news is, [redacted] just gained a new customer. I will drive an hour out of my way to NEVER set foot in Stalling Motors again.
