Call Sta Dry Roofing for none of your home projectsThey were a no call no show for my estimateMaybe, this was a saving grace to the finish project that was never started
Sta Dry Roofing installed a metal roof without using the furring strips we agreed to use before contract. Now I have a NEW DAMAGED roof.I recently hired Sta Dry to install a NEW metal roof on my home. One of the owners and I negotiated the work to be performed and agreed that furring strips/purlins would be used in this install. After paying $5,600 cash and waiting over a month for work to begin the materials finally arrive. There were some scratches on the NEW metal upon arrival, owner stated that it would be touched up after installation was complete. I immediately noticed at the beginning of install that the agreed furring strips weren't being used??? I called the owner right away and notified him that the AGREED work was not in progress. He drove to my house and showed me some sort of foam pads that would serve the same purpose. The metal roof was installed directly on top of my existing architectural shingles with NO barrier of any kind. Because the type of shingles beneath have varied thickness the NEW metal was severely dented after repeated traffic during install. Seeing how terrible my investment was looking I pointed out to one of the owners that this is a new roof and all new materials. He replied that there would be minor dents from the screws... I told him that there wouldn't be dents if he was using the furring strips that he ASSURED me WOULD BE USED. His reply was "if furring strips were used, the roofers would have to step only on the spots where the strips are... its hard for them to do that" I told him "if it was easy to install, I would have done it myself".... that's why I am paying $11,200. Since, the quality of work has just gotten worse. I have double screws everywhere (again easily avoided with furring strips) the flashing around chimmeny was done very poorly, the boots around the pipes/vents coming through the roof are severly wrinked and the facil board was also broken during installation with NO attempt to repair causing the aluminum wrap to look horrible. Knowing that I was NOT satisfied and before completion [redacted] asked for $3000 to pay his workers. Like a dummy I gave it to him. He said " I did your roof the same way I do all my roofs." to which I replied "does all of the roofs have this many dents?" he said "I don't know what you want me to do about it" and offerd a discount of $600. I told him that wouldn't work. Now I am being told that I owe the remaining balance and an attourny is being contacted. The damage and appearance of this project is plain terrible. The only way to fix this would be to remove the NEW roof and reinstall by someone competent. I have a total of $8,600 invested in this "NEW" roof and I now have to make more repairs due to damage caused by Sta Dry. Any decent company or person should be embarrassed and ashamed of this product.Desired SettlementI believe an apology is in order as well as repair of damage caused by Sta Dry Roofing. To repair the appearance of what is supposed to be a NEW metal roof would require replacement of all damaged/dented metal. If Sta Dry is not willing to do so, a partial refund to equal cost of install leaving only the cost of materials at customers expense should be provided. Business Response In regards to Mr. [redacted], re-roofing an older home like Mr. [redacted]' has it's challenges and it tends to have imperfections just by it's age. I admitted to Mr. [redacted] we made some errors and did apologize to him the day we finished. We also offered to reduce his bill by $1,000.00. That offer still stands if he would be willing to accept it.
Roof installed but areas incomplete. Paid in full. After 7 months never returned to complete the work.April 3, 2015, I made a contract with Sta Dry Roofing rep [redacted] to have a metal roof installed. After completion an inspection made and I pointed out to [redacted] that a section on both sides of the roof in the front of the house was incomplete and he agreed, I was told that this would be completed within the week. This was paid for in full May 5, 2015. (My mistake for making the full payment) In July after I got no response I contacted him and received a return call saying they were too busy at that time and would put me on a waiting list. I told them I should not have to wait because they had already been paid. Since then I have contacted them twice, today, Nov 12 being the most recent attempt. Each time I have called I have only gotten an answering machine so I left a message and I have not gotten any response from them.Desired SettlementI would like the company to send someone out a finish the work on my roof.
