Review: Had sleep study done, out of pocket, was told it would be $1000 plus $250 (for doctor reading). Hospital required fee be pre-paid, and payment was made. A month after service a $1519 charge was demanded, I informed them required payments had been made, and was told it would be looked into. I was later contacted to provide documentation to prove payments were made, paperwork was faxed (Oct/2014), I heard nothing back and figured case was closed. 4 months later was billed again for $1519, I called and payment agent had no explanation, I demanded to speak to a supervisor, none was found and was transferred to customers service. After some time customer service agent said $1519 fee was a "facility charge" and I was responsible for payment. What I don't understand is the hospital required a pre-payment, why wasn't this so called facility charge included? I talked to the payment office on multiple occasions (personally at the Cornwall Hospital and on phone), the first time I heard of a "facility charge" was seven months after the procedure . I mailed the demanded fee, to end my aggravation.Desired Settlement: I feel a refund, at the very least an apology is in order because all fees and services should have been included at initial payment. If any negative credit entries were filed, please correct.
