Review: I recently had a fishing rod break and after breaking the rod I contacted St. Croix to confirm the validity of the warranty. I was told to provide them with the model and serial number. I did so and then was told it was covered all I had to do was ship the item to them with a $20 check for return shipping. After doing so I received a letter in the mail saying that my rod wasn't covered under a warranty and that it would be an additional $55 for the rod to be replaced. If I didn't provide them with the additional $55 the rod would be disposed of and I would be out of the money that was initially used to ship/return. I was not provided with any of this additional information prior to shipping the rod.Desired Settlement: Replace the rod as they stated they would on the initial call to them.
