Review: On Saturday evening, my guest inadvertently parked without a permit and was towed 9 pm. When we discovered the problem we contacted the towing company to retrieve the car, as detailed on a sign. The sign claims that the car can be reclaimed on Saturday only till 5 pm (at least one hour before being towed) and Sunday by appointment. When we called, we were told that the car couldn't be retrieved until Monday, because 'He don't make appointments'. We were also advised that they accepted ONLY cash, but could not tell us what we owed until Monday. When challenged with the difficulty we were presented with to have 'CASH ONLY', but not advised of the amount, the operator said that additional charges would be assessed because we were giving him a hard time. On Monday we brought $300 cash to pick up the car, and were presented with a bill of $401.25 The fee was $225 for the tow. $75 for 3 days storage. $50 service time. $25 admin. $26.25 tax. How can this possibly be considered fair or reputable business? They retained the car for 36 hours, but charged storage for 72 hours. The individual was so offensive and arrogant on the phone, that I was afraid to go alone and pick up the car on Monday, and so asked my husband to accompany us. I'm still afraid he may come back.Desired Settlement: I believe that the $225 fee and retrieval instructions noted on the sign should honored, and the additional fees refunded. We were ready and able to pick up the car on Saturday. If they can't accommodate us, the problem is theirs. The No Parking sign must be more prominently displayed. An apology for the threatening response to the initial calls would be nice, but not expected.
