Customer service is terrible, they are very rude and unhelpful.

Sussex Rural Coop is just that a Coop with no government regulation. They have not horrible but horrendous customer service. Things are told to customers and then different things written in their notes. Phantom phone calls are made and voice mails left. Their rates are very high and if I could, I would switch tomorrow. Their online system is incredibly outdated and they do not let you choose your own username. I only mention this because the username they generate for you is so random there is no way to remember it. We got behind on our bill, have 4 kids one being a 4 month old at the time, and they didn't care and turned off our electric in the middle of the winter anyway...3 days before my deadline to pay the arrangement. Before we moved, we had JCP&L and I was happy with them. When buying our next house, we will make sure that Sussex Rural is Not the electric company.
