Just had a terrible experience with my nine year old. Now I wish I would’ve read the previous reviews. They only have two lanes and it’s very disorganized. In 45 minutes we only got to go once. The tubing is very dangerous for small kids. You can only go head first and it’s very icy and not smooth at all. My child came off the tube and scraped her knees and was crying by the time she got to the bottom. This place should NOT be open for tubing. They get away with the waiver we have to sign, if not they would be getting sued left and right.
When I went to talk to the manager about changing the tickets to skiing she rudely announced they don’t give refunds and tough luck. She proudly accepted the fact that if it’s crowded you may only go a couple of times for your 29$. Poor customer service. Not recommended. Won’t be back.
On their website it clearly states, “four for free” program gives fourth graders another reason to hold on to their report card. When a current fourth grader accompanied by a parent with current report card comes in they receive a free season pass along with free beginner group lesson, two free rental. It also notes, on weekends they will process the free season pass when there is no line for lift ticket. The last day to sign up is January 31, 2018 and processing fee is $5.00. When I first went in line to speak to the emploee, the lady said their printer is down and they do not process the free season pass on the weeknds but I can try it later in the day when their is no line. I went back to the line when there was no one in the line and spoke to the same lady. This time she said the owner stopped handing out the free
season pass, and I asked her why there ins’t any notices on their website, she just said we just don’t. It takes more than 35 minutes from my house to the ski place, I had to pay the full price for my son’s lift ticket, rental, and lesson. It is unfair and cruel how they are luring parents with false advertisement.
January 30, 2018Dear ***,I received your correspondence on this matter last week and would like to provide thefollowing information for your consideration. Spring Mountain Ski Area has provided freeseason passes to local 4th graders for quite a few years. It is our desire to give every child in our area the opportunity to at least try winter sports. We even include a free lesson and two free rentals of equipment. The value of this package is over $500, and all we ask is that the parents cooperate with a few rules. The parent must be present in person to register their fourth grader, they must have a copy of the report card, and since the process takes some time we ask that they do not come in on weekends or holidays since we are very busy with paying customers. Also, when a parent can not come in during the week,it gives us the indication that they are only interested in doing this for one day. Our intent is for the fourth grader to come and use the season pass multiple times to acquire a love for the sport. We simply do not want to go through the process for a one—time user so that they can ski free for one day.
I hope that this provides some insight into our policy and the reasons for our policy, it is hardto believe that we could ‘be criticized for providing this program to the community.
Sincerely, Richard B,
President

I am rejecting this response because:
The response from the business does not answer or explain the problem, but instead stating their lame excuse. If the business no longer will honor the 4th grade free pass program, do not advertise or include in their website. The place is very dated and not well maintained. Will never recommend to others or visit again.
