Spot Devices has failed to support the [redacted] crosswalk light systems that [redacted] University ([redacted]) purchased & installed in 2011. In 2011 [redacted] purchased [redacted] crosswalk lights from Spot Devices in the amount of $296k to outfit 12 crosswalks on our main campus. The systems were installed in March 2011 & initally functioned well. By the Summer 2011, the crosswalks suffered multiple LED failures. In 2012, Spot Devices provided new prototypes in an effort to resolve the problems and we limited the new test to 6 crosswalks. At this point, some of the Spot Devices assets were acquired by [redacted]. [redacted] states they did not purchase the In RoadWay Lights ([redacted]) used on our crosswalks. Spot Devices has been unresponsive ever since that acquisition occurred even though they still retain ownership, responsibility & liability for the crosswalk systems they sold to the University. Desired SettlementWe simply ask Spot Devices to back the product they sold to us. Either fix the existing systems, or replace them.
