I've requested a refund from the owner several timesShe's ignored my requests for a refund
I visited the club twice, both times in the first week that I paid for a month membership, to do a spin classThe gym has a strong bacterial odor that's present on the machines and in the general club area, but not in the spin room which is separate, on the side of the gym in a different area
Between the smell of the club and the fact that I had to move for work, which I mentioned several times in emails to the owner, texts to the sales manager and phone calls to the gym, I requested a refundI ONLY went to the gym twice and was very unhappy with the smell
I have no idea why they wanted to keep my money when I used the gym twiceBut I've heard since then that this is common practice with the owner and while she claims there's no smell, several other people noticed it and didn't join the gym because of it
There is a refund policy in place that states that if you move for
Employee became very hostile towards me, made threats, and directed very threatening body language towards me, yelling and scolding me

I was working out at one of the benches in front of the dumbbell rack I was minding my own business when another person tapped my shoulder from behind, while in the middle of a setI stopped, pulled my headphones out and this person (an employee of the gym) directed me to move my bench back away from the dumbbell rack because I was blocking the walkway(There was two feet between me and the dumbbell rack.) The gym was not congested, nor was I in anyone's way at this point in time
When I asked him why I should move, given that it was only myself, the employee, and one other gym patron in the immediate area, he began to raise his voice at me and gave me the ultimatum that I move my bench or I would be thrown out of the gymI asked him to please calm himself but he continued to raise his voice and threaten to ban me, clear
I went in and cancelled my membership with a representative as required on approximately September 11th, 2013. I was charged the following month even after my cancellation. When I called the business to question the charge, they told me they had no such cancellation on file and that I needed to again request a cancellation, which I did via fax. As far as the refund for the additional month that I was charged, after many weeks of follow-up I was told that because they could not locate the cancellation paper work that the General Manager, [redacted] ([redacted]) [redacted] would not agree to refund the charge. Furthermore, prior to the denial of my refund, I was told that they were switching over their systems, and that my cancellation could have possibly slipped through the cracks due to the change over. So not only was I illegitimately charged additional fees, but I was most likely charged additional fees due to the direct negligence of the company and then refused a refund even with that negligence taken into consideration.Product_Or_Service: Health Club MembershipDesired SettlementI would simply like a refund for the additional month I was charged for.
This company, along with a Medicare Advantage plan, offered free membership. However, early this year there was a problem (no one can figure out just what happened) and for about a month those covered were told that they would need to pay their own membership since it was no longer offered. They took my yearly membership even after they had signed with another company to cover benefits.Desired SettlementI would appreciate your support of my request to get this refund. I applied for a refund in April. The contract clearly states they should refund me $360 within 60 days. To date they have not done so. Answers to inquiries include "it's complicated" and "it's in a process."Thank you.
