I met with the customer and examined the usage in the houseThe meters that were installed recently were AMI meters which allow us to look at interval usage and the usage on those meters went down but we feel that the usage for the house has declined due to to seasonal differences (reduction in A/C usage)There are a few appliances that make up the majority of the baseload usage in the home and outside of those appliances they do a relatively good job of not using much electricity considering the amount of people in the home and the amount of time that they are present in the home during the weekOne thing we hope to change that could help clear up the confusion is getting our billing cycle closer to the actual usage period, and that should be completed when we have finished implementing the AMI meter change out We are also looking into the possibility of offering a pilot with a product called Sense, which can diagnose a customer's energy usage in real time, and we feel this could help customers reduce their energy consumption by understanding what is running in real timeThat could hopefully dispel some of the rumors that we are not being fair in our billing or that our meters are not working properlyOur meters are tested by a third party independent lab in accordance with the rules as set by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin
I have contacted the company twice in the most recent 3 month period. I requested new meters. They were installed. After the new meters were installed, I noticed that our usage dropped from 1200 down to 821 KW. We did not change appliances, habits, AC usage, etc. Our bills have shown very high...
usage for the last 4 years. Usually 1200Kw - 1500Kw. Now, after a month with the new meters, they are down to 821. There was no change in our daily functions. Leading me to believe we have had inaccurate reporting of usage from the previous and old meters for the last several years. After talking with Kim, she suggested we have our residence inspected by Cory from WPPI. We are doing so to prove the point that our house has energy efficient appliances and the usage we have been paying has been inaccurate from old meters. Jenny [redacted]
