Concrete walkway at base of steps is not level and a hazard if snow covered or ice. Told by contractor there is nothing they could do about it? I believe the walk should be redone and leveled so it is useable.
July 17, 2017 work on a stamped concrete patio and walkway commenced. After the application of color on the back patio the color of the patio was dark charcoal/black. Dan told us not to worry, after sealing it would lighten. After sealing, the color did not lighten. Colt was called in to *** the work, he explained this was Dan's first time applying this color powder and he must have applied too much. Colt assured us Dan could chemically strip the sealer, re-color and re-seal and all would be fine. After the stripping and re-sealing was complete *** and *** expressed concerns about some noticeable cracks so before we made final payment we asked Colt to come back and *** the finished work. Colt assured us the work was fine and the cracking was normal, he informed us that as long as we re-sealed within 3 years and didn't use salt or de-icer he could guarantee the work for 7 years.
March 2019- 20 months after completion of the work *** and *** noticed multiple holes (40 or more) forming in the concrete ranging from dime size to 2" in diameter and up to 1/4" deep with exposed rock/clay pieces. March 25-27 multiple attempts to reach Dan or Colt. March 30 Dan responded to a voicemail. Dan said it was our problem, we must have used salt. *** assured him he knew better, no salt or chemicals of any kind had been applied to the patio. Then Dan asked if we re-sealed. *** asked if it was supposed to be done yearly. Dan said no, the problem must have been bad concrete and that Spokane Concrete would not warranty this work and hung up. *** later texted Dan suggesting a meeting with the concrete supplier to *** the concrete failure. There has been no response or communication from Spokane Concrete.
Hello
Please see below for my response to the complaint ***. I have also attached a copy of our warranty for exterior concrete. I apologize for the late response. We understand the importance of a quick response to our customers and we failed in this instance. Please reach out anytime with questions.
It is truly unfortunate that this has happened to this customer. It is unacceptable for any representative to hang up on a customer whether intentional or accidental. Spokane Concrete apologizes for this. Spokane Concrete does warranty its craftsmanship. This is evident in this scenario when we removed the color that was not accepted by the customer and we reapplied it to their satisfaction. Concrete is guaranteed to crack. We have no control over the cracking of concrete and thus we cannot warranty the failure of a product when it is out of our control, even when it is 20 months after placement. Spokane Concrete does offer a 12 month limited warranty (See attached). We stand behind our craftmanship and we value pride, integrity and attention to detail that matters most to you. We feel we hold ourselves above others when it comes to customer satisfaction.
Best Regards
