As there was no wine left in the bottle it was almost impossible to judge the bad wine. We also try to talk to our supplier about the bad bottle of wine with no wine left in it. Since there is no wine in the bottle, it is treated as ”wine is been consumed” buy our supplier and they refused to issue a credit on an empty bottle of bad wine. We never had a problem with the bad bottle of wine in the past. But it seems like [redacted] had really got a bad bottle of wine. Our supplier had not issued credit for the empty bottle of bad wine but as a courtesy to our customer we would credit him $50.00 towards the purchase of bad wine in the form of Gift certificate. Review: I am a wine collector and frequently purchase wine from Spirit's Unlimited in Howell, purchases were in excess of $2000 in 2014 with receipts. On 12/25/2014 I purchased a bottle of 2005 [redacted] ,for $43.99 + tax, as a gift, which we opened a few hours later. Upon opening we found the bottle was maderized, which is essentially rotten due to improper storage. I returned with the bottle the next morning and spoke with the clerk [redacted] who said she couldn't help me. I asked for a manager. [redacted] was on duty and he also said he couldn't help me and that I would have to speak with the owner. He has seen me in the store many times and in frustration told me he made aware the owner many times that there are bottles that are not good on the shelves but the owner refuses to remove them. I left the bottle and my phone number hoping to hear from the owner. Without any call I returned on 12/30/14 to follow up, and the owner happened to be there. After explaining who I was, he said to me about a bottle of wine that is on his shelf " I should have known better than to buy a white wine from 2005" (NORMALLY THIS WOULD BE TRUE EXCEPT FOR WINES FROM THIS REGION WHICH ARE EXPECTED TO CELLAR FOR 8-20 YEARS. Please see website to confirm [redacted] He then said "Well, the bottle is empty" I explained because of my pick up truck driving with a open wine bottle could lead to a DWI, not to mention I could have put anything in there if I were being dishonest, which he agreed. He then stated he would ask his supplier for a credit but was too busy too do that until the New Years rush died down. He refused to give me his name or a contact phone number which I asked for since he is not in the store very often. He never called so I returned to the store on 1/9/2015 for an update and the manager told me he wasn't going to do anything for me.Desired Settlement: A refund is certainly in order, it's as simple as a defective product was made readily available for purchase. Being that once I made management aware of the issue I was given such a run a round leads me to believe that the same would happen to others.
