Spencers Online

Review: My niece, [redacted], purchased an item (an [redacted] the Grouch Plush Backpack) for me from Spencers Online and had it shipped to me. When I opened the package, the backpack was clearly defective. There was a huge hole in one of the straps of the backpack. Spencers Online did not provide any type of return packaging or labels. I had to pay for the cost of returning their faulty item back to them. I spoke to a customer service representative about being reimbursed for the $12.35 that I had to spend. She told me to fax my receipt from the post office and that I would be reimbursed for cost of the return. That was on April 9, 2013- three months ago- and I have yet to be reimbursed for the cost of that return.

What was supposed to have been a gift from my niece ended up with me paying $12.35 with nothing to show for it. Instead of sending me a new backpack as I had requested, Spencers Online refunded my niece. It's not fair that I paid $12.35 and have absolutely nothing to show for it. It was the company's error, and they need to be held accountable for that error.Desired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed for the $12.35 that I spent returning a poorly made item that should have never left their warehouse.
