I have a commercial office building and needed my septic tank pumped out and called speedy rooter. They said they would come do an initial inspection that afternoon. After staying late at the office they never showed. They arrived two days after I called. Upon arrival they told me I needed my lines snaked out without inspecting anything. I had just had another plumber snake the clean out two hours prior! I asked how they determined my lines needed snaking and could not get a real answer. So, I got an estimate for different sized septic tanks, as they could not know for sure until they opened it. I was quoted $249 for the first 1000 gallons and 10 cents a gallon over 1000. They wanted to charge me extra to dig access to my tank. I dug the lid myself. After opening the tank they told me I had a 3600 gallon tank and that it would be $900. That is not the $509 I was quoted a week before. I called the office to argue this and they said that their prices have not been 10 cent/gal for over a year. That the girl whom I originally spoke with was new and not trained and so would not honor the price I was quoted. I chose to go with this company because they were the cheapest over the phone. I thought that even with all the stress they had caused it was still worth the savings. I had a 25% off coupon to another service I could have used and had it done cheaper. Bottom line is that this company duped me and once I had them on site I could not change companies because I was in need asap. It took a week for them to get the job done all the while toilets backed up and I had to clean all the messes. Also, they talked me into getting my tank "pressure washed" for an additional $250; I watched them take a hose and hose down the sides. No fan tip, only the equivalent of a garden hose with a sprayer attached. I DO NOT recommend this company, the extra "phony" costs they tack on are how they can appear to be cheaper but in the end will pull the wool over your eyes. They do not honor their word and should not be hired.
