Specialty Mobile Mix

I used Specialty Mobile Mix on a pour for a friend of mine last year. It was a large approach for a shop, around 20 yards. Rain was forecasted for later on in the day so we had accelerator added to ensure that we would be done before the rain hit. We poured out both trucks and proceeded to finish the concrete. The concrete from the second truck firmed up and finished great. The mud from the first truck sat there unfinishable for another 5 hours. After contacting the owner and the second truck driver ( who I consider a friend) I found out the first driver added a different accelerator that obviously doesn't perform worth a crap. The owner decided to send out a so called pro finisher to lend his advise. With the rain starting to fall we had to build a makeshift tarp roof to shield the rain. The (pro finisher) had never seen anything like this before and blamed it all on the poor accelerator. We finally got the concrete finished, but with the drastic cure time difference it was impossible to match the broom finish on the two different pours. I called the owner and told him that my friend was not thrilled with the pour and wanted to be compensated with a discount on the concrete. He told me that we would look at in the spring after some of the irregular broom marks were from the different trucks mud met wore down. Well...this spring the concrete with the inferior accelerator, the top started popping off. To make a long story even longer. When contacted by my friend the owner of Specialty blamed everything on our finishing and he would accept no fault whatsoever. Not only did he not accept any responsibility he did so by yelling and cursing at him on the phone, real professional. I, along with my brother in law who helped on this pour have poured hundreds of yard of concrete together and will never use this company again, along with countless people I have referred to Specialty. The customer is always right? Not here, even with his so called pro stumped on this crap mud. By the way [redacted] is cheeper an 10 times better mud, and they do stand behind their product.
