A complete refund of $has been processedConfirmation # [redacted]
As records show, we have never had a complaint about the way we do businessThere was never a conversation about a free inspection so I guess I'm trying to figure out why he would expect free serviceI told him that if he has us perform the repairs on his truck then we credit back the diagnostics
chargeHe told me he had no intentions of bringing the truck back for service, so why would I want to give him a refund for our services? Diesel trucks are extremely expensive to maintain and repair, everything that comes through the door is charged a minimun $chargeHe want's a $refund, but I honestly don't know of anything in the Diesel Repair industry that will only cost you $We are taking this a learning experience and now have a sign posted in the office stating that every inspection is subject to a $charge plus taxWe have not had to worry about this in the 5+ years We've been in business

Regards,
[redacted] Once again it's not necessarily the amount of the charge that Specialized Diesel NW charges for repairs but it's that I was not made aware of the charge prior to the vehicle being inspected and coming back for it, I wouldn't have had you give me an estimate. I had went to 2 other automotive shops prior to taking the vehicle to Specialized Diesel NW and had not been charged an inspection fee. Why would I assume that there is an inspection fee from this business whether it specializes in diesel or not without being told so. The owner is correct about there was no talk about a free inspection nor was there any talk about a $108 charge. I don't recall ever telling the owner that I would not bring my truck back to him, he may have assumed that after he told me that there was no codes and that he couldn't find the issue I had explained to him when I brought the truck in and then proceeded to give me one option that totaled $4250. Also yes you did tell me after I had paid you and complained about the charge that you would take the $108 off the bill if I elected to go the $4250 route. The reason I am asking for a partial refund and not a whole refund is because you did supposedly check the codes, and I say supposedly cause the other shops found a insignificant engine code and he didn't, and he also test drove the truck, or the truck was moved. So I am trying to compensate him for his 15min of work, you did no physical work to my truck.I am fully aware that diesels are very expensive to maintain and repair due to my truck having 215000 miles on it and having multiple repairs done to the truck, I've just never had any done in Spokane and have never been charged an estimate charge anywhere else I've had vehicle work preformed. All that has nothing to do with you not telling me ahead of time when I dropped the truck off that you charge for an estimate. I feel you didn't mention the fee until when I came back because either you didn't think I would have the estimate done or you figured the estimate would be to high and I wouldn't have the work done by Specialized Diesel NW. That's how I feel from a customers perspective so I'd appreciate it if you took my gesture to give you $40 for your time and refund me $60 or refund the whole $100 like most businesses that miss communicate over a fee would have done in this instance. The whole point is I was not told of an inspection charge nor was there a sign posted at the time of service (as noted that there wasn't one at the time of service in your reply) that inspections/estimates are $100 prior to you accepting the keys to my vehicle and you doing the estimate.

A complete refund of $108.70 has been processed. Confirmation #[redacted].
Review: I took my Dodge 3500 into Specialized Diesel NW after stopping by a few days before to get an idea of what was going on with some irregularities in my transmission. Both occasions I spoke with Chris, told him what the truck was doing and then left it with him today so he could scan for codes and test drive it at his convenience. He called roughly 3 hrs later and told me that the trany fluid was burnt and dirty and I needed a new transmission for $4250. He didn't find any codes or find the problem that I had described to him. I went to pick the truck up about 30 minutes later and he printed out a bill for $108.70 for me. First off I wasn't told about a charge at anytime for getting the truck checked out. That is my whole complaint with Specialized Diesel NW. If your going to charge somebody a fee for something tell them first and if you THINK you told me then I guess you should have an agreement signed to prove it. None of the other shops I took my truck to charged me a fee to get an idea of what my problem was with the truck. They both came up with the same diagnosis which was a torque converter. So when Chris told me to take my cheap as somewhere else, I gladly will. Chris it's not about being cheap it's about being honest. I give out quotes for work all the time and haven't charged for a one.Desired Settlement: This not about that Specialized Diesel NW supposedly charges for a truck diagnosis. Its about not being informed about the charge at anytime before it was time to pickup my keys. I would gladly pay Specialized Diesel NW something for there time looking at my vehicle but I think $100 is not a fair price for the lack of service rendered and information provided. If I would have known the charge was that high ahead of time I would have took the truck elsewhere. I would like to be refunded $60.
