I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 12799934, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.I will not be doing business with this company (SPDI) and will be disputing the hard inquiry with the credit bureaus myselfI will be going directly to ADT for my home security servicesThanks anyway, Revdex.comI appreciate the effortSometimes a business just can’t admit when they’re wrong/accept liability for their employees’ actions (again, Mr*** was great, just not fully knowledgeable of the credit checking process)I will add again that it is illegal to perform a hard pull without the person’s consent - I consented to a soft pull, yet a hard pull was performedI feel that my feelings regarding this matter are completetly justifiedI have contacted my attorney regarding this matter (out of curiousity) and explained exactly what happened- that I did consent to a credit check, under the pretense that it was a soft inquiry (as I was told it was by the employee), but a hard inquiry was doneMy lawyer said if I sued, it was very likely I would win, but there isn’t really a pointI think I can settle things myself with the credit bureaus so that’s what I’ll do
Hi, As Mr*** stated Mr*** did disclose that there
would be a credit checkIt is a check through Decision Power from Equifax there
is not a full history check preformed we do not get a print out of all credit
history with payment histories and accounts open and or closed with
late
payments and default payments etc …
The system requires a first and last name, current address,
DOB minimum to get a credit score ONLYIf this doesn’t get a hit we may be
required to enter previous address and or the last of the SSN and or the full
digits of the SSN, all that we receive is a credit score and tracking number, or a declined for credit cut or no
record found or it could be a lock on credit have customer call a agency xxx-xxx-xxxx
So in Mr***'s defense when he was asked if it was a soft
pull or hard pull, I am assuming he was answering correctly when he said soft
as we do not receive a full credit reportAs far as how the credit burial categorizes
them as they are pulled is not part of our purview

After a recent visit by MrHeath S***, Special Promotions DeptInc., ADT Authorized Dealer, I discovered that this company had performed a 'hard' credit check against my credit to obtain credit information I was surprised because I had indicated that I had NOT made a decision to purchase a security system from ADTIn fact, I told MrS*** that I intended on looking at other security company offerings Perhaps he felt he had my 'permission' because I agreed to schedule an installation in the next month with the option to cancel the installationBecause I depend on my excellent credit for real estate investments, I was surprised that this company had the nerve to run a credit check just based on an initial consultation They may represent ADT, but I think ADT would not like them to represent them in the future
I was approached by Anthony Price of Special Promotions to install an ADT alarm system at no installment costsyears later, he reached out to me to upgrade my system with Safe Guard Americayears later he again reached out to me to upgrade with Ring and security cameras through ADTEach time I asked if I was in contract, he assured me he writes the contracts at years and that he would handle the closing of the Safe Guard accountI was notified by Safe Guard that I was still in contract for more years and that I needed to buy out contractAnthony said not to worry and he would take care of itSure enough I apply for mortgage and lender says I have day late and collection account from Safe GuardI reach out to Anthony assures it will be taken care of and to give him a weekNow, he doesn't respond to text, voicemail and I had to pay $to close collection and now credit is ruinedLooking for Special Promotion to deduct his commission/pay and reimburse me the cost h

I had a home security system installed in my home on July 10th, by ADT Special PromotionsFrom moment one, the system was faulty and kept beeping all night which kept me up all night
The ADT Promotions' representative *** *** gave me his card, crossed out his own phone number and wrote the office number with an erroneous extension number; a number which does not existThe next immediate day, I tried approximately times to contact Mr*** to have someone come out to fix the security systemHe would not respondI then tried to contact ADT central office numerous times and was told I would receive a phone call back, but that never happened
Subsequently, I decided to call and cancel the contractI tried numerous times to get a hold of Mr*** to cancelHowever, as mentioned above, he had written an incorrect extension number which made it impossible to contact ADT Special Promotions

To keep this short and simple, the salesman and I had reached a point in our talks where he said he needed to run a credit check to see if I was eligible for the promotional pricingI asked if it was a soft pull and he said yesThe next day I was notified that there was a hard pull on my credit reportHard pulls immediately lower your credit score and stay on your report for years - if I had known he was going to be doing a hard pull, I would not have agreed to itI do not believe he knew with certainty whether or not it was a hard pull or soft pullThis comes down to training and the salesman being knowledgeable about all sales processesI would like some kind of compensation as credit scores/ratings are extremely important and this will affect mine for TWO YEARSUnfortunately I do not know how to put a price on a situation like this
SPD, Incput cameras in at my condo in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA on 4/20/By 5/15/they were not working Long story short, they sent people out to fix them over a month time frame after MANY requestsMy place was broken into twice, with police reports filed with LOMITA SHERRIFS DEPT., and the last time ADT came out, (10/2016)they STILL could not fix the "network" problemI told the guy to just take the cameras out and take them back with him, he refused I was forced to move for safety reasons back to my family in WV I paid the monthly contract fee anyway, even though the camera didn't work In 12/06/I cancelled ADT However in 7/I contacted the State Agency that oversees this industry, Deptof Security and Investigative enforcement Agency for CA, *** *** She is STILL contacting them on 1/19/I received a collection notice from Priority Collections Agency for $2545.21, of which $is interest, claiming I owe this money to SPD, Inc How
