Sparkle quick lube failed to to honest about the service they performed on my vehicle.
On Wednesday January 2nd between 2:45 pm and 3:00 pm, I arrived at Sparkle Quick Lube on M-139 in Benton Harbor Mi to have a coolant flush performed on my 2001 ***. The service technician that performed the service took my name and number and vehicle information and then asked me to pop the hood on my vehicle. The technician then realized that my vehicle had 2 bleeders on the block that would need to be opened during the service in order to properly complete the service. He informed me that he is, and I quote, "NOT able to open the bleeders" and did not inform me that since he was not able to open the bleeders due to Sparkle's policy that he could not properly perform or complete the service.I was unaware at the time of service that not being able to open the bleeders meant that he could not properly perform the service. He instead continued to perform the service knowing that doing so could potentially cause damage up to and including a blown motor and a completely wrecked vehicle. HE continued to performed the service inproperly and then told me it was complete and told me the total was $109.99 and me not knowing that the service he performed was not right or completed properly, I gave him my credit card to pay for the service, not knowing that it actually harmed my vehicle. After I paid the bill he sent me out the door and down the road with no heat at all and my vehicle overheating potentially causing damage to the vehicle. I told my friend that is a small engine mechanic about the service and how my vehicle was in way worse condition after I had left Sparkle. He informed me of what was happening and how bad it could be if I kept driving the vehicle without opening the bleeders and letting the air out of the cooling system and putting the proper amount of coolant back in, I could have a motor melt down. The very next day, Thursday January 3rd, my friend sent another mechanic out to my location to properly "burp" my coolant system to avoid any problems with my vehicle. That afternoon I drove back to Sparkle Quick Lube to talk with the manager and service technician that performed the service about some kind of compensation for the neglect on their part to inform me that they were not equipped to properly perform and complete the service that they did. They refused to agree to a refund or partial refund for the service that was not properly performed. I believe that Sparkle should refund my $109.99 for the "coolant flush" they did to my vehicle that could have caused severe damage if I had not sought out other advice and help to fix the problem that occurred due to Sparkle's neglect to properly inform me of not being able to properly perform the service and advising me to seek other professional mechanical work for the service I was seeking.
I would like to be compensated with a full refund of $109.99 for the coolant flush that was performed wrongly on my vehicle.
brought her 2001 *** in to Spakle Quik Lube on January 2 2019 to have a coolant flush performed . *** informed the technician that she just had the radiator replaced prior to us servicing . After the service the technician advised her that the bleeder valves were corroded and that she should have a mechanic remove them in case they break upon removal . She had brought the car in after the radiator was replaced and the bleeders had not been removed so any air that was in the system would have been introduced by who did that repair . The flush system we performed is done by vacuum created by the engine and not the coolant equipment . Although I believe we were correct in advising her to have a mechanic remove the bleeders because of the condition and risk of breakage , Sparkle Quik Lube would be willing to issue a gift card in the full amount of the service for the confusion .
