Review: On March 31 2014, my automobile was serviced by Spangler Subaru for a check engine indicator light. The reason was an emission issue, involving Evaporative Canister Valve, not sealing correctly,.50 HR a diagnostic charge of $40.00, 1.0 hr labor $80.00, the tech removed the valve, cleaned the assembly, re installed new hose clamps, nuts, and road tested my vehicle, which did not re code, I payed a charge of $138.75. On April 21 2014, a check engine indicator light re coded, I was not able to schedule a service repair until May 1 2014, on this date a diagnostic was redone coding the same issue, evaporative canister valve. Again I was charged .50 hrs $40.00 and Labor at 1.0 HR $120.00 A new valve was installed on the vehicle, at $84.93, and a smoke test was also preformed on the vehicle for $80.00. The cost for this repair was $223.59, a total cost of $362.34, I professionally complained to the service manager in private, away from other customers, that I shouldn't have to pay labor costs and diagnostic costs twice in 2 weeks for the same issue. The price for the smoke test and the new valve was understandable, the service manager walked into the owners office, he returned approx 10 min later, and told me that i'm going to pay the full cost, I believed a Dealership would warranty their labor costs, and not charge me for a second diagnostic, when it revealed that it was the same issue. My complaint is being charged twice to correctly fix my issue. The second $120.00 labor and the second $40.00 diagnostic charge should have been credited to me. Desired Settlement: I trusted a dealership to correctly fix my vehicle, and by paying a higher labor cost, verses a private mechanic, I expected a dealership would warranty their labor and work. I would like a refund of $160.00
