This complaint can be closedI'm not happy with my experience and I wanted my complaint against Space City Auto filed and noted for future customers they sell lemon cars and use the "as is" for justifying their selling practice This was my first and last time doing business with an independent small minority business and I will not refer anyone to Space City Auto Certainly confirms why people should buy from a certified dealerships.

class="">I would first like to thank Ms *** *** for her business and apologize for what she perceives as bad serviceIt is our goal at Space City Auto Center to provide exceptional customer service and to ensure our clients are happy with their purchase In regards to Ms *** complaint: On October 31, Ms. *** purchased a *** *** vin# ***At the time of purchase she signed, among other documents, a BUYERS GUIDE as required by the State of *** stating the vehicle is sold AS IS Without Warranty. Ms *** was advised that it would serve her best interest to purchase a third party extended warranty to protect her investment and that we sold such warrantiesShe declinedLater that evening Ms*** called to advise that her vehicle had begun to over heat and that fluid was coming from the bottomAs a courtesy, we assured her that we would have our mechanic look at the vehicle and make the needed repair at our expenseUpon inspection, the radiator had indeed malfunctioned and was in need of replacement. The work was done and the vehicle was returnedOver a week later a separate issued arose with the vehicles check engine light. Again we advised Ms*** to bring the vehicle in to be evaluatedUpon inspection the vehicles thermostat and sensor were in need of repairAgain we advised Ms*** that we would have the vehicle repaired at OUR EXPENCE, but that she should also consider purchasing a warranty to protect against future repair cost, this time offering the warranty at dealer cost for her inconvenienceAgain she declinedAfter the work was completed and the vehicle returned, Ms*** complained that there was paint damage ( 1/4" scratch on the from bumper driver side) that was not previously thereHaving no way to verify when and where the damage was done (mechanic, driver accident, or passer-by) we agreed to fix the damage at OUR EXPENSE after the Thanksgiving HolidaysDuring the holidays Ms*** thermostat sensor failed againAgain we made the repair at OUR EXPENSE as well as repairing the paint damage. On 12/15/Ms*** advised us that the car now had a separate unrelated issue with the A/C systemAs this purchased was signed and agreed to without warranty and all previous work was done strictly as a courtesy, Ms*** was advised that she could take her vehicle to our mechanic and have the vehicle repaired at our discounted rateThis was our last conversation with Ms*** until JanuaryWhen we next talked to Ms*** she called to "give us a piece of her mind" and hung up without asking or seeking a solution While I completely understand Ms*** frustration it must be highlighted that her vehicle was purchased AS IS and that all efforts where made to help with her mechanical issuesIt is unfortunate that Ms*** opted not to purchase a warranty as this would have remedied much of the situation and provided protection against future mechanical issuesAs stated on the BUYERS GUIDE signed at time of purchase " YOU WILL PAY FOR ALL COST FOR ANY REPAIRESThe dealer assumes no responsibility for any repairers regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle" It also states " A service contract is available at an extra charge on this vehicleAsk for details as to coverage, deductible, price, and exclusionsIf you buy a service contract within days of the time of sale, state law “implied warranties” may give you additional rights." We deeply regret not being able to fully satisfy Ms***We have made every effort to help in her situation without argument or pauseWe incurred additional repair cost that is contractually outside of our responsibility, offered discounted mechanical service, and advised additional protection for her investment at dealer costWhile we seek to sell quality vehicles we DO NOT guarantee against future mechanical issue's as stated in the BUYERS GUIDE and advise our clients vehicle are sold AS IS Ed H*** Finance Manager Space City Auto Center
