This complaint is not an accurate account of the events that nightPlease see below: A few days prior to the event in this complaint, I received a call from the Community Board president stating that the event had been flagged by the local police department, *** *** ** *** **, and
was given a number to the lead detectiveWhen I spoke to the detective he informed me that the party had been flagged by the NYPD due to possible gang association and over capacity attendance (the party's Facebook page had over invites to this event)I immediately called *** to discuss and he informed me that it was completely and not to worryI reiterated the venue's capacity of 65-maxand he again reassured me that he understood and it was not going to be a problemI gave him the benefit of the doubt, even though he hadn't paid in full, because it was his birthdayBy that time he had paid $of the $agreed upon for the event. On the day of the event he offered to pay $and stated that his friends would pay the balance when they arrivedI decided not to take $instead I wanted to receive the full $balance when he had it available that nightAt the start of his event there were already upwards of people waiting outside to get into the venue with crowds still arrivingAt that time, I reiterated to *** that only people were allowed inside so he had to tell his guests outside to leave as the venue was nearing capacityThe crowd outside continued to grow and were scattered all over the street and in front of private residencesThey would not disperse prompting the police being calledThe police approached me stating they've received numerous calls about noise and crowds and that someone had a gunAfter already discussing with *** about getting his party under control I made the decision that the party had to be doneThis was minutes after the start of the eventIt took the police at least a half an hour to clear the street outside of the venue.
