Review: I had Spa Doc Service come to our residence to repair a spa. There was an initial service charge for them to come out to give the estimate, which was reasonable. After determining that the spa pump needed to be replaced, we received an estimate for $739.45 (estimate #32215) for them to replace the spa pump.
That invoice, however, included $565 for them to use their supplier for the part. I did some research and found out that I could buy the part at a lower price from a local supplier. Russell (the Spa Doc employee that actually did the replacement) was very involved in this process. I spoke with him about the part itself to make sure it was correct, and I talked to him on several occasions about the price. He assured me that his service charges would not change at all whether he supplied the part or I got the part myself. He actually said to just subtract the cost of the part, including tax and shipping, and to use that number. As a result, I decided to buy the part myself.
When Russell came out to replace the pump, I again confirmed the price of $110 based on the estimate. I had no reason to not believe him as a) he had told me that several times, and b) I had not received a new invoice. My credit card was then charged $199.26 since they already had my card information on file.
I never received another invoice until after my card was charged. I only received a few emails directly after this happened... essentially stating"sorry for the misunderstanding". I have tried countless times to resolve this with the business directly, but I have not heard anything back. Not once have I heard from Russell about this issue, although I've left several voicemails asking to be contacted.
I have honestly never experienced a situation like this where a business just clearly could not have cared less about a customer once they got their money. As a result, I am filing this complaint to hopefully finally get the issue resolved. Thanks for your time.Desired Settlement: Refund of $85
