This is by far one of the worst companies I have ever done business with. I rented at The Lex in DC, at 1101 4th St SW and no one was ever there to assist me. When someone was there, they were asleep in the office or unable to help me. Shortly after moving in, I was registered in the garage across the street. It took more than a month, with multiple emails and visits to get it corrected. The gate was often non-functional and once it was replaced, I never got a new card and my car was stuck in the garage for three months but I was still charged during that time. I emailed multiple times, notifying the company about my upcoming move and need to cancel. Diane responded with the instructions on returning the parking pass and the address. The card was returned to me by mail noting "insufficient address, not a government agency." I know this is the correct address since I used to live there, but I emailed Customer Care three more times to get further instructions, with out receiving any response. I also called the Corporate Office in Chicago and no one returned my call. Parking at 1101 4th St SW was never easy. The garage was always at full capacity with government vehicles, tourist parking, Arena Stage parking, etc. -- leaving very few parking spots reserved for residents of The Lex. And, if you are a tourist and pay to park there, they won't tell you that they lock up the garage after a certain time and you will not be able to get access to your vehicle. I let tourists in through my apartment building on multiple occasions, since they had no other way in. One person was in a wheel chair, which made navigation to the garage especially challenging. I would not recommend this parking location or any garage operated by SP Plus Corporation.
I received a parking ticket on 05-05-2019. I was there for a running event. They had a sign out that said parking was $10. The only option on the computer to pay was for the $10 option. It did not list a time or limit. I came out to my car in the morning and had a ticket. When I went to their site to review the citation it shows a picture of their computer system with different metered rates and different times. None of those were an option when I paid. They clearly used the sign as a bait and switch to be able to issue large unreasonable fines. I have gone to their website to dispute it and it said someone would get back to me in 48 hours. There was no follow up by phone or email from anyone at the company. I tried reaching out to their corporate office. The only option is to send a contact us request. There has been no follow up from the company after two attempts and after a 5 buis. day wait. I have tried calling the local number and tried every single prompt option because the corporate company says you have to call the local location. There is no way to get to a live person and every single prompt plays a recording saying to to online. My citation number is ***. Thanks you in advance.
