the eye exam is more detailed and comprehensiveWe have to check the health of the eye of every patient in order to give a refraction, so we can rule out any underlying issuesWith standard soft contact lens patients, the procedure we follow starts with an eye exam, than the optometrist prescribes trial contact lensesAfter the patient has worn the trial pair during the trial period, which usually lasts about a week, the optometrist sets a follow up exam to see how the patient is doing in those particular set of lensesWith hard contacts, or rigid gas permeable lenses, the procedure is much more tedious and detailedIn addition, there are no trial contacts for RGP patientsDue to HIPAA constraints, I would suggest contacting our office in order to resolve this issueIn order to make the whole process easier for you, I ask that you speak to only Jennifer or myself in The Optical, as we have been charged with helping you with this.
