Sent to collections after my insurance said I owe nothing!
This company and their Houston collection agency are both a SCAM!
Make sure your doctor does not send labs to this company.
I've been trying for months to resolve this "bill" from Southwest with no success. I finally decided to just pay the $100 to be rid of them and they say they never got the check!
I feel trapped in a loop of incompetent, rude people

I'm having the exact same problem as the rest of these reviews. Received a collection notice from a company in Houston. Neither SW nor the collection agency have any contact info except a payment link and a phone number. I have no idea what the bill is, whether it was filed with insurance, nor why I never received a bill before they send it for collection!

Never received a bill in the mail from them but did get sent to a collections agency for an amount not agreed to by the terms of my insurance. I paid the collections agency since I didn't want a ding on my credit report but then I looked up my explanation of benefits that evening and they are trying to collect on nearly $480 more than the $38 my insurance says I owe. I had to call the collections agency back and my credit card company to stop payments. I then decided it prudent to call my insurance company. After speaking to my insurance company they said what they are doing is fishy. My insurance tried calling them and was given a disconnected number to contact. When my insurance company called them back again they were then given a wrong number. They then called a few more numbers and finally got a hold of them after nearly an hour... Southwest Pathology (or whoever bills for them) finally corrected my bill with no explanation of what went wrong. After all this I still had to call them and pay the corrected amount with more run around as they tried to say they couldn't find my account - finally they 'found' it. This whole ordeal wasted nearly three hours of my time.

This company is clearly trying to fleece patients - if the insurance company they are contracted with can't even get a straight answer or contact their billing department for nearly an hour that is pretty bad.

Impossible to contact them. Telephone answering system is extremely long then when finally put through to customer service, no one answers. Called twice and was on hold for over ten minutes each time.

Clerical errors in medical labs are unacceptable and can have life or death consequences. Southwest Pathology submitted my claim to insurance with the wrong diagnostic code who denied the claim sticking me with the bill. When I asked them to check with my doctor and resubmit, they just resubmitted with the same wrong code. After telling me they would "handle it" a few months later they submitted the bill to a collections agency. I had to call them every other day just to get them to take care of their own mistake. I work in the health care field and wouldn't trust a lab result from a company that is so careless. Ask your physician if they use this lab. If they do, request that they use another lab, or go see another doctor.

My account wasn't billed through insurance and sent to collections after I called multiple times.
I contacted the sales reps multiple times because they weren't billing my insurance. They kept telling me over and over it would be resubmitted. After talking to my insurance company they never received an attempted claim. I called on my son's too because it had the same problem and they came back and re-billed his with no issues. I've reached out and reached out with no response until I received the collection notice. I paid the notice but I'll move mountains and refuse service before I use these people again.

Desired Outcome

I would like this to be billed on my insurance PROPERLY, and a refund be issued if necessary.

In reviewing your complaint, we have found that your claim has continued to be denied by Cigna. Cigna has rejected your claim twice stating they cannot identify you after you called with the correct information. We have contacted Cigna and they have supplied a fax number that we can fax your claim to. If Cigna pays on your claim, the collection agency will send you a refund if applicable. Sorry for any convenience this may have caused.
