Response received via fax to Revdex.com, 1/30/Scan is attached; text of letter reads as follows: "This letter is in response to the complaint submitted to the Revdex.com on 1/13/ID #***.Customer purchased a power steering pump from Southside Auto Salvage on 1/6/He
states he later installed the pump in his car and when turning it on he noticed a chirping noise and claims the bearing is out on the pump purchasedHe then states he put his old one back in, because the bearing was good on that oneWith that being stated does it not seem odd if the part he was trying to replace was the issue why would he put his old part back in the vehicle? Obviously, the power steering pump was not his issue.On 1/6/a car was drove into the shop at Southside Auto Salvage and the power steering pump this customer requested was removed from the car for purchaseThere was no issue with the pump and it worked fineTime and effort would not go into the removal of a faulty part for resale.A week later customer came to return the power steering pump and told the business owner that the part was badThe owner then asked if he had a fever and customer replied yes he actually did and was not feeling wellHe was told to come back in an hour when the manager returned for further discussion.When customer returned he was told by the manager this return would not be honored as the part was not faultyIn continued conversation customer stated he did not need the pump, because it was the power steering hose that was badThe power steering hose was leaking, which was the contributing cause to the noisy pumpThis is why he put his original pump back in the car and wanted to return the one purchased as it was the part he in reality did not need.Southside Auto Salvage has been in business over years and has never had an issue of complaint to the Revdex.comWe do accept returns and exchangesOur apology to this gentleman is extended, and had the approach been in a different manner and customer been truthful from the start the outcome could have possibly resolved differently with a full refund issued less a restocking fee for the time and labor involved in this sale."
