Southport Heating, Plumbing and Geothermal Reviews (14)

We have used Southport Heating, Plumbing and Geothermal for all our furnace, plumbing and air conditioning service calls. Technicians are always on time, polite, friendly, knowledgeable, explain and answer all questions.

Southport Heating, Plumbing and Geothermal was very helpful. My furnace died on a cold day. I called expecting a long wait and they had someone over in 20minutes. Repairman was very courteous and efficient. Furnace required a major repair and being that it was late in the afternoon they could have said we'll get the part and repair in the morning. Well they didn't do that. Repairman went and got the part and came back, furnace fixed. Me, the customer was not only happy but warm again.

Southport came to my house the same day I called them about plumbing parts I needed replaced. They answered all questions professionally, performed the work excellently, and treated me with courtesy. They have my future business! Excellent all around!

excellent service and friendly tech.

The AC guy was very professional, on time, and thorough.

Southport has installed a new A/C FURNACE AND WATER HEATER AND WATER SOFTNER. I would recommend them for any of the above and I have.

Timely, efficient, effective service. A pleasure to work with them.

Used plumbing, replaced AC and Furnace. Excellent work. Very professional!

Outstanding Service and installation. Fair pricing and great professional technicians.

Early this spring my husband and I, knowing that our old air conditioning unit wasn't working, was old and ineffecient decided to replace the whole unit. I went to the Revdex.com site to find accredited businesses in our area to have quotes done. Southport was one of the businesses, and their quote came in at the midway point, not the most expensive or the cheapest. My husband and I had to work when the quote was being done so my Mother-in-law let the rep into the house. Afterwards we called to ask any questions we had about their quote. We had 2 main questions, the first being did the price quoted cover everything?(knowing that it was an attic install and that could cost more) We were told the price did cover everything. Second being that the unit quoted was smaller then what we previously had, if that was going to be an issue. We had a 2 ton unit before, we were quoted for a 1.5 ton unit. It was explained that the smaller unit would run longer and be more efficient then the larger unit that would start and stop more frequently.( I had other people tell me that same thing)
We went ahead with the quote and the same rep came back out to the house so we could sign the paperwork to proceed with the work. That was when we noticed that the quote was now $350 more then previous. When we asked him, he said he was talking to my mother-in-law, who he knew through his wife, and was distracted and forgot to include the additional attic install fees. We went ahead with the new price and had them do the work, afterwards they told us they would be back in a week to follow up and make sure the unit was running properly.
approximately two weeks later we noticed the air conditioner wasn't keeping up, it was warmer in the house then outside. We also realized at that point they had not been out to do the follow up, so believing the unit wasn't working right we had them back out to the house to check it over. We were told the unit was working fine and that we would need to keep the thermostat set several degrees lower then what we want the house cooled to. That because it was in a hot attice it would take longer to cool the house. My old 2 ton unit only had that problem when it was over 100 degrees outside. We also found out that the 1.5 ton unit was rated to cool houses with 1500 sq ft or less, our house is close to 1650 sq ft. This year has been well below average temps outside and the unit even set several degrees below desired temp still can't keep up.

Southport does a great job of all there work the are always on time of there appointment if they are running late they will call you so you are not waiting on them they always clean up after they finished the work never leave any mess very satisfied with them recommend them to anyone
