"With all due respect, why is it that two rounds of white guys show up with all sorts of bluster and confidence, throw out crap they don't really mean (or they are simply not paying enough attention), and then the people of color come out and do the real work, all the while the bill escalates, because everyone one wants to be "the contractor" and sit back and spout nonsense worse than the worst of civil service supervisors these days, leaving us to foot the bill for waves and waves of people who don't even do the work, and don't even do a good job trying to pretend they are above all that "hard work" (at low pay, no doubt, seeing your prices (so belatedly) and noticing the highway robbery that has made this great state what it is today)."
They continue to be awful. Seriously, look up their subcontractors - far better for half the price and instant service (rather than months of back-up and irresponsibility)
To whom it may concern,
We in fact do give free estimates, but we do them based on us installing the jobHowever, if a customer calls in and tells us that they're going to install themselves, we always tell them that there is a $measuring fee (for using our measurements and having a tech go
out)
In this particular case, this customer did NOT mention anything about installing themselvesSo therefore, they were not notified of the measuring feeYou have to take into account that anytime we send someone out for an estimate, we are paying that technician their salary for the time taken out of their daily schedule (which could be utilized on an install job, not a free estimate)The $fee is basically paying for the expenses included in going outWe are fine with giving free estimates because at the end of the day, the customer has the job INSTALLED by us and we make our ends meet
I hope this clarifies this situationIf there are any further concerns, please feel free to contact me

Review: Hello - We called this place to receive an estimate for a window and they sent someone out. They mentioned nothing of a $65 fee for measuring the window and added it on later. This place is literally less than a mile from my Mothers house. So they added the fee on later when she went in to order the window and they refuse to remove this fee from the bill.Desired Settlement: We ordered the window and paid them for that I would like to have this fee returned to me.

To whom it may concern,
Review: I ordered a window on 7/27/2016 and I was promised that the window will be ready to be picked up within 3 weeks. I called the company on 8/16/2016 and was told that the window should be here the same week, so I made an appointment with the installer to have it installed on Sunday, but the window never showed up. I had to pay installer $100. I called the Sothgate today and I was told that the window will be here on Friday now.they are playing games with me.Desired Settlement: I want Southgate to reimburse me for the money I had to pay the installer.

Response:
To whom it may concern, This customer ordered a custom window on 7/27/2016, he was told it would be an approximate lead time of 3 weeks (based on that window manufacturers lead times at that time). Customer called back to check the status of his order on 8/16/2016, he was told that the window was not in yet, and that we would call him upon arrival. During the phone call he asked if it would arrive that week, we said it may but we would call him if it did. Our employee should have contacted the manufacturer and gotten the exact date of arrival, rather then telling the customer it "might" arrive and we'd call him. Unfortunately he did not. But the customer was never notified of the arrival of his window. Being in the trade, a lot of our customers and contractors understand that the window of time given at the time of the order (in this case 7/27/2016), is only an approximate based on the manufacturers lead times. Therefore they do not schedule installs until after their product arrives. Mr. [redacted] opted to schedule his installation before we called him and told him that the product was received. Therefore, we do not feel responsible to pay the $100 he is asking. His product is scheduled to arrive this Friday 8/26/2016. Please feel free to contact me at (916)421-1723 or via email at [email protected] Thank you. [redacted]Southgate Glass & Screen, SacramentoManager

Response:
This customer's window will be received at our shop on Franklin Blvd tomorrow (8/26/16). We are willing to refund the $100 if, and only if, the customer can provide us with a receipt or proof of payment to his contractor. Otherwise, we will not be able to refund him.Thank you. Response:
I am rejecting this response because: According to Mr. [redacted] the window "will be in the shop on Friday, August 26, 2016", but I got a call from the shop that the window didn't arrive. This is now more than 4 weeks and no sign of window. The store is playing game with me. This is the third promise that they have broken. I don't trust anything they say. Mr. [redacted] rebutted my claim by saying that the window will arrive on 08/26/2016 and it is in writing.Mr. [redacted] what you have to say NOW? You wrote your rebuttal and you were not even keep up your words! What kind of business you run? YOU ARE A LIAR AND YOU KNOW IT! ADMIT IT THAT YOU ARE A CHEAT! You took my money and didn't deliver the service.
