I booked a vacation rental in August of 2019, took my deposit and fled.
I booked a vacation rental in August 2019, paid my deposit of roughly 1500.00. I got a contract and confirmation from *** vacations rentals. I tried to contact the company yesterday to only find out that the phone number and email contacts were no longer working. I did not get notification from the company regarding a out of business issue or a refund. I have not been able to contact anyone regarding refunding my deposit. Basically, *** vacations, booked my vacation rental, took my deposit and fled.

Paid Sunburst Beach Vacations a rental deposit $1015.59 to rent a house at *** Wood Beach Dr. in Santa Rosa, FL. But no access and no refund.
The house was sold but neither the old or new owner received the rental money nor were they informed of the rental obligation. Sunburst has been sold. I'm told by the former owner of the house that the owner of *** has left a trail of unpaid peoplecontractors, rental property owners and renters. I will be filing suit against the owner of *** and the former owners of the house. A history of abusive business practices should not be sheltered simply by changing the name of the business.

We rented a beach house in Seagrove Beach,FL called BellaVista from Sunburst Beach Vacations for a week. Our reservation was from Saturday, October 6, 2018 to Saturday, October 13, 2018. The house has 6 bedrooms for the three separate families renting together. On Monday, October 8, 2018 Walton County Florida ordered a mandatory evacuation for all visitors and residence because of Hurricane Michael. We were not able to complete the final 4 days of our planned vacation. The following week we contacted Sunburst Beach Vacations to see about getting refunded for the days we missed due to the mandatory evacuation and they told us without vacation insurance there would be no refund and that the company would be discussing a possible credit. Two weeks later on October 23, 2018 a lady named Julia Edwards (manager of guest services) emailed to let us know that we would receive only a credit of $1,135.00 to use only for BellaVista by 10/31/19. The total reservation cost was $4,947.27. Sunburst Beach Vacations gave us less then 2 days credit. The cost for house keeping and heating the pool was $610.00 alone and we were only there for two nights. After the email was sent I called Julia *** to let her know that I did not think it was right that they did not offer a refund or full credit for the days that we could not stay due to the mandatory evacuation. She told me that Hurricane Michael was an unprecedented event but that without travel insurance the owners and their company would be out the money for the remainder of the week. I told her that I did not think anyone should profit over any service that was not provided during a catastrophic event like Hurricane Michael. She told me that she would talk to the President of the company about my request for a refund or credit for the 4 days we did not get to stay because of the mandatory evacuation. Its been three weeks and no one has called back.
