No biggie.
Then they said there was an extra $10 fee for processing. For why? I don’t know.
Everything came outta the bank that same day, told me I would get a “receipt” in the mail. Done.
Here, in September the 16th. I noticed they STILL took out the payment for the shed even though the shed was supposed to have already been paid off.
WHY did their “accountant” not make sure the auto payment would have been stopped and my bank number removed? I don’t know, guess that would have been too freakin easy.
I did state how upset I was and how this actually did set back a few of my bills. Her response? “There’s nothing else we can do. Expect your refund by next week”
This should have been prevented by someone actually doing their job to begin with! Now I’m going to be late on two important bills and all I get is “expect a refund next week”?
Honestly, don’t do business with this place.
The total payments equals 1952.14 towards the principle. This results in a balance owing as 175.90.
When contacting the company (Southern Lease Management Group, LLC), and inquired as to the extra payments made towards the principle, I was informed that the extra payments were put into a "Pay Ahead Credit" account. Further explanation reveal that this "Pay Ahead Credit" was put in place to protect me if I could not make a payment. First off, I have NEVER been late, and have always paid extra to reduce how much principle we owed. Second, how dare them to insult me by implying I would ever be late.
I have spoke to the Company twice, and was told that the message was forwarded for review, and would hear from a account rep.
I have contacted, and filed a complaint with the BBB, and in contact with the Secretary of State in Tenn, and North Carolina.
By my accounting shows an amount I owed as 175.90, which like always is above, and beyond our Monthly payments.
As this virus spreads, and effects every aspect of our communities, it is no excuse, and no fault of your customers. Therefore, I hope for a quick resolution, and would purchase another product.

Purchased a large 16x20 Garden Shed which required $800 security deposit because it was a large building. Contract for financing signed and $800 paid. Building delivered perfectly. Paid Southern Lease Mgt in full on 11/6/19- four days before the first bill was due. Paid over the phone and I was promised my security deposit refund by mid December. I called on 12/10/19 to check on refund, I was told "I didn't request it be refunded" so now I won't get it until 1/15/20. I asked the rep, where in the contract it stated they could keep the security deposit once it's paid in full for 60+ days- the rep replied "well I don't know- I didn't write the contract", then she hung up on me. Be prepared to be held to the contract while the company isn't held to their end of the contract. Their business practices are highly questionable and I would not recommend financing with this company.
I purchased a 10' x 12' building from Southern Leasing Management and received it on July 29, 2019. It was my understanding that the 90 days same as cash had to be called in to the company and set up that way. I received the first invoice on August 22, 2019 with the balance and discovered that I had til October 25 to make my 90 days! The process is confusing with purchasing from a dealer and what I was discovering through the company.
They have horrible customer service and their practices on purchasing a building from them are scandalous!
Just got a bill with four months worth of $10 late fees. I paid $300 to get the shed paid off sooner, but $40 of that was credited to "late fees" over the past four months-which I paid b/c they were listed on my bill, in addition to the $10 fee for paying online. Currently bill clearly states payment was received on the 8th-two days before due date. Customer service rep just told me they cannot provide me with old statements. I am so confused.
SLM sold my building while it was still on the lot, and then says the reposessed it. I have paid in full paperwork. Im on disability, and they have taken advantage of me and everyone else, sounds like. All customers need to contact the CFPB in Washington, DC, their state Atty. General, their State Banking Dept, and also a letter to your Governor. This place is a shame and a disgrace to themselves. I dont know how their conscience doesn't eat them alive. They need reported, but God says Revengence is mine.
Continue to draw payment from bank account after paid in full. CAN NOT get them to refund $221.87. Keep giving me the run- around. Was told it would be deposited back the Friday after it was taken on the previous Monday. On Friday they said Monday. Now, today on Monday they say could take 10 more days. Ridiculous! BEWARE! You won’t have to worry about me doing business with you again!
been making payments for a year just hapened to look at the invoice they send me every month they have been taking half my payment applying it to the ballance and pocketing the rest STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEFS I will be filling a complaint with alabama attorny general
This place is a scam, I've been charge the security deposit on my shed 4 times in the last 9 months. And there is always an excuse as to why they applied the deposit to the balance and not to the security deposit. They are incredibly dishonest because they WANT to repo your shed and sell it again. IF YOU WANT A SHED DO NOT BUY ONE FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU LIVE IN MICHIGAN OR INDIANA. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD! & BOTH of my so called BRAND NEW SHEDS LEAK FROM THEIR METAL ROOFES & WALLS! Do yourself a favor and cancel your payments and send by their crap products. THEIR OFFICE IS FULL OF DISHONEST SOUTHERN WOMEN WHO HANG UP ON YOU IF YOU ASK FOR THEIR NON EXISTANT ACCOUNTING DEPART!
Building was broke into no forced entry come to find out by the insurance adjuster that they use the same lock and keys on all buildings they admitted they knew about this my homeowner's insurance only paid for my personal items but not any of my business equipment so I'm out all most 2800.00 filed a law suit and now waiting for them to be served and let's see what the judge has to say so beware put a hasp lock on your buildings
We are currently leasing a shed and if it weren’t full I would tell this trash company to take it back. First they make you pay an extra $10 each month tho pay on line, the only way to avoid this is mail a paper check, who does that? If you do mail a check and it’s late because of the always reliable USPS you get to pay $10 late fee. The latest crap is my girlfriend paid our $187.02 bill however forgot the .02 and did .00 so late fees applied. $10 for .02? Like I’m going to keep 2 cent when I just gave you $187? Wtf? Clearly these folks are dirt bags that take advantage of people and to you southern lease management I say Golf Foxtrot Yankee ,you trash.
Acount was sent to collections but not once was we ever contated by phone from SouthernLease Mgt. We have a past due balance from 2013/2014 which we assumed was caught up when the collection driver was wired $375. We were never told that they keep $150.00 of this just to call us on the phone. This has happened twice. Although each payment has been made for over a year on time, this past due balance was never completely paid due to the $300 that the driver kept for themselves to call us. When SouthernLease was contacted by me, they refused to take any form of arrangement for the said past due amount and we were told that we had to deal strictly with the driver and that it was at their discretetion wether they accepted an arrangement. Again, we were never called by the company itself to discuss this amount, it was turned over to the collection driver to deal with and basically they make $150 to simply call and have us wire them money. This is a total scam and rip off. We are down the last 8 months of this loan and now they are trying to repossess over a past due amount from over a year ago. They have had a year to simply call us and tell us the amount was outstanding and they did not do it. We were told that we should have read our bill statement closer. Normally when you have a past due amount, the business will call and discuss this with you. We were told they didn't have time to call their customers. I am not disputing that there may be a couple missed payments from the beginning of the loan. I am angry that we were never called and when we did get a call from the collection/repo company, the amount that we assumed was going to the loan, was not fully sent to the loan. Desired SettlementI want the late fees that have accrued over a past due amount we assumed was paid to be waived and we would also like the $300 that was paid to the collection/repo driver to go toward the past due amount. I also think that they should allow the past due amount to be added to the last 8 payments that we have.
