Southern Lakes Credit Union Reviews (3)

The member was going through the bankruptcy process and unfortunately
we are only allowed minimal communication by law while they are going through
that process.  The error was discovered
and the payment was adjusted.  We thought
that this was communicated through the documents...

that we filed through the
bankruptcy court as this is our only way to communicate with a member that is
going through bankruptcy.  The $185 that
the member states as a late fee was the deficiency balance that was due because
of the change in the payment.  I have
reviewed the account and have refunded the late fee of $4.60 that was assessed
to him on 5/21.  We reviewed our credit
reporting and no delinquency was reported due to this circumstance.

Review: On November 22, 2013 I had a direct deposit hit my bank account in the amount of $25 which made my balance go up to $28.35. I used up $29.13 which would leave a negative balance in the amount of $-0.78. I can understand one Overdrawn fee, but they gave me 4 overdrawn fees and my statement clearly states I was positive and fees just started hitting. I do have the statement which I will attached. I did contact the business and they said there is nothing they can do.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to credit all the overdraft charges back to my account. Total $140.

Response:

We spoke with our member and explained the process on how items clear the account. Our member understood and was pleased to receive the phone call. We are live real time so when something is done on the debit card, whether as credit or a debit it comes off of your available balance immediately. It does not post to the account for up to 3 business days when it is done as credit. We have refunded 3 of the 4 fees the member received and our member is very satisfied.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: We got a car loan in May of 2011 we made our requested monthly payment every month. We decided to go through chapter 7 bankruptcy in April of 2015. We decided to keep the car which was always paid on time. When we reaffirm the loan the credit union found a typo and told us that we had been paying $100 less a month than what we were supposed to be. They sent us 4 years of coupon books with the wrong amount. They changed our payment in April of 2015 without telling us. I didn't receive my coupon book in May so I contacted them. I was told they couldn't send me anything due to the bankruptcy I told her I made my payment as usual and just wanted to touch base that everything was ok and I was assured it was. At no point in the conversation did she tell me my payment was increased. We received our new coupon book with the new payment amount in June. We called and found out that the loan was $185. past due and that we could be reported unfavorable on our credit. They changed our payment extended the life of our loan without telling usDesired Settlement: I don't believe they should change our payment without our knowledge. I would like the $185 late payment dropped and not reported to our credit
