The customer purchased the trimmer head on April 21, He returned the trimmer head on May 12, It was apparent that the trimmer head had been damaged from the useWe offered to refund the customer his money less the 30% restocking fee because the head was damaged(We were
attempting to placate an angry customer.) Upon hearing this, the customer took the trimmer head out into our parking lot and damaged it furtherHe told the counter salesman that he wanted to make sure that no one would be able to use itWe still took the trimmer head back and deducted the 30% restocking feeWe are not reimbursed by this manufacturer for returned products (especially when it is evident that the product was misused and damaged)Also, there is a note on our invoice that advises all customers that there will be a 30% restocking fee for returned partsWe will not refund this customer the $restocking feeWe should not have allowed the trimmer head to be returned, nor should we have refunded any of the purchase price to this customer
