Review: The contract for the installation of a whole house generator at my home included all required permits and inspections. Upon completion of the job, I requested copies of the final inspections from Jefferson Parish. I was told they were waiting on one more inspection before the permit would be closed. I sent them a letter with a deadline for copies of the permit and final inspections for my records. Southern Generator Services or the owner never responded. I went to Jefferson Parish Permit Department to follow up on the inspections and request copies. Jefferson Parish informed me that a permit had not been taken out and inspections were never requested on this job. I was served with a NOTICE OF VIOLATION and charged a penalty fee & permit fee. The manufacturer of the generator gave me another supplier to contact so they could inspect the original installation. The installation was not done properly and would not pass inspections. The gas line had to be redone along with other items to pass Fire Marshall approval. All of the additional work to pass inspections was at additional cost to me. A Judgment was awarded in 5th Justice of the Peace Court for over $2000.00 for my out of pocket cost over and above the original contract cost with Southern Generator Services, LLC. To date, they have not paid the Judgment!Desired Settlement: I am requesting full reimbursement of my out of pocket expenses of $2339.00 plus interest per the DEFAULT JUDGMENT (Case No: [redacted]).
