Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
While much of what Mr*** stated is true, he failed to mention that on my return call to initiate the order I asked if I needed to use a credit card for down payment for the special order*** indicated that was not necessaryAt that point, he should have stated credit cards were not accepted or an additional charge would occur The other thing he failed to mention is *** absolutely refused to take a credi card that day
If credit cards are not accepted, that should be made clear at the time of quotationI understand additional fees are involved and would have paid them but *** refused credit card payment when asked twiceIn today's society, credit card is a common payment method especially for items as expensive as this It turned a good job into a terrible experience
I truly do not recommend anyone to use this company due to poor business practices of not being forthright up front

In regards to the complaint from *** ***, below is my response as Owner of Southern Advantage Door, Inc. Mr*** called and ask if I could give him a quote on replacing garage doors. My installer ***, met with Mr*** at his home to measure the job. He
was not able to give him a quote at that time until he called it in to our supplier due to the fact of the unusual nature of the install and being special order due to the color and size. *** called Mr*** back and left him a quote on his voice mail. We were then contacted by Mr*** and was told to go forward and order the doors. He never mentioned the fact he would be paying by credit card nor did he ask if we except credited cards. This is not a method of payment as 95% of our customers pay by check or cash. Until about a year ago we didn't even except credit cards. We normally get a 50% down payment on special orders, but due to everything being handled over the phone, no down payment was requested. Installation went well and it wasn't until the job was finished did Mr*** ask if we except credit cards. *** told him we do except credit cards however there would be a 4% increase in the price. The reason we have to do that is because we are charged a fee when a credit card is run for payment. If we did not recoup our fee we would be losing our profit on our doors.
We truly regret any confusion and apologize for the misunderstanding. If Mr*** had ask in the beginning if we excepted credit cards we would have told him yes and figured the 4% fee in the quote. In response to his request of settlement, I feel that Mr*** received the doors he ordered and the installation, as he stated, was done in a professional manor with good quality doors. He was charged for his order exactly what was quoted, therefore I feel there was nothing done to Mr*** unfairly.
Sincerely,
*** ***, Owner
