We had *** *** do several home remodeling projects for usWe were happy with the firstWe had another few done and were less satisfiedThen we hired him to remodel our kitchen and that was a disasterNo one showed up for work, *** did not answer calls or return messagesA week project took months! He would sometimes stop by and make promises and I sit at home for days, waiting on workmen who never cameThe ones who did eventually did show up did very shoddy workWe had to have our new heart of pine floors pulled up and replaced because the guy had not allowed them to acclimate to the houseAt the end, *** asked for his last payment and like the naive fools we can be, we extracted his promise that he would put our project on the fast trackHe never again showed up, he abandoned our projectI got calls from other irate customers, but I only had the same storyWe had to hire another contractor to finish our kitchen*** put several of his subs out of business for work done and not paidNow, we find that we are having to spend a lot of money for work that he did poorly or not at allStay away from him at all costs!

my truck broke down, I had *** tow it to southboro auto tech, they reviewed what they claim was the problem, I spent plus days going back and forth,
during the days back and forth, my truck was torn apart each time and I was told it was a coil that was bad, I paid them *** but my truck was not properly repaired, during there days of tearing my truck apart they charged me *** per hr,they replaced all my spark plugs which wasn't needed at a cost of roughly *** there was no need to do this we weren't happy with there procedures and the way my truck was handled, after the 4th day the manager said if we weren't happy he would give us a full refund, there was a problem inside number cylinder, they claimed my truck was fixed I left with my truck on the fourth day and a few miles later engine light came back on and I broke down again, I brought it to *** *** to have them do a diagnostic check and they found numerous problems with number cylinder, they spent another d

I purchased a package deal for approximately *** I was unable to use the card and was unable to receive any refund or credit for it
I purchased a package deal that included oil changes and other servicesWithout using it once, I ended up purchasing another vehicle that included oil changes and repairs for free So essentially the package deal I purchased had no value to me I contacted the place of business to receive either a credit for other services, or a full refund
I was told that I would not receive eitherI assured them I would use the money towards gas for the dollar amount, but for them to take *** from me and I get nothing in return is unethical

Had brakes replaced [redacted] 2014 and brakes were never the same. I have had all brake jobs previously done thru [redacted] in [redacted] & never had one problem. When I picked up the car, almost got in an accident having to jam brakes on,was nearly hitting the floor & slow acting on fast stops.Brought car back several times, they kept telling me they didnt know what I was talking about as everything appeared fine. They replaced the brake pads once because they said they thought they were faulty but again, didnt correct the problem. So I finally gave up because it was back in that shop 6 times at least. They offered to have a AAA person come check it out & did. He also said nothing was wrong & bled the brakes as he said this wasnt done before? So in [redacted] 2015 I took my car into [redacted] because brakes were squealing. I needed both front & rear brakes & rotors. I had rear replaced first which was fine. But when I had the fronts replaced, drove home that night with smell of burning rubber & very hot. Took back in next day, they put car on lift, wheels werent turning. They found the pins (from previous brake job) were loaded with oil & gummed up. They spent about 3 hrs cleaning it up & replaced all parts.Desired SettlementI would like at least a partial refund for the aggravation of never fixing the brakes correctly, let alone the inconvenience of losing my car for all those days in the shop. I was told by [redacted] I discerned correctly that brakes were never done right, very poor quality service.Business Response In order to provide you a complete understanding of the issue I have taken Ms. [redacted]'s complaint and inserted clarifications' to her remarks. Below her complaint you [redacted] find a timeline indicating service to the vehicle, AAA's response to Ms. [redacted] and Southboro Auto Tech after inspecting the vehicle, stating the condition of the brake linings and other components; in addition to requesting support documentation and assistance on her part, and finally [redacted] response that they were not contacted by Ms. [redacted] after attempting to contact her in [redacted]Consumer's Original Complaint:Had brakes replaced [redacted] 2014 and brakes were never the same. I have had all brake jobs previously done thru [redacted] in [redacted] & never had one problem. (no documentation of maintenance/service records furnished)When I picked up the car, almost got in an accident having to jam brakes on,was nearly hitting the floor & slow acting on fast stops.Brought car back several times, they kept telling me they didnt know what I was talking about as everything appeared fine. They replaced the brake pads once because they said they thought they were faulty but again, didnt correct the problem. (brakes were replaced for customer satisfaction, no defects were found with brake pads)So I finally gave up because it was back in that shop 6 times at least. They offered to have a AAA person come check it out & did. He also said nothing was wrong & bled the brakes as he said this wasnt done before? (this is incorrect, actual statement was... "Although there was no work performed on the hydraulic system of the vehicle when the brake pads were replaced the facility did flush and bleed the brake hydraulic system, which is an often over-looked maintenance procedure")The AAA representative requested additional information from Ms. [redacted], in addition to, "...schedule a road test where I would accompany you to experience first-hand any concerns regarding the braking system"So in August 2015 I took my car into [redacted] because brakes were squealing. I needed both front & rear brakes & rotors. (as stated by Ms. [redacted], no documentation from facility; SAT and/or AAA were not notified)I had rear replaced first which was fine. But when I had the fronts replaced, drove home that night with smell of burning rubber & very hot. Took back in next day, they put car on lift, wheels werent turning. They found the pins (from previous brake job) were loaded with oil & gummed up. They spent about 3 hrs cleaning it up & replaced all parts. (the rear and front brakes were replaced by [redacted] in [redacted] at the request of Ms. [redacted], these "pins" would have serviced by the dealer and would not be the responsibility of SAT) Timeline of service:[redacted] @ 83,440 miles, she come to us with a poor braking complaint. Dealer told you that you needed brakes. We do four wheels of brakes, using our premium brake components. We road test and burnish in the brakes and the brakes feel fine to us.[redacted] @ 83,270 miles, she states that you are not comfortable with the way the brakes feel. We drive and inspect vehicle and find nothing wrong. In an effort to keep you happy and do the right thing. We redo the four wheel of brakes, at no expense to you. We road test and burnish in the brakes and the brakes feel fine to us.[redacted] @ 87,884 she brings the car in for the same brake "feel" problem. Dealer says brake life ok. We replace the pads and rotors again, with another premium brand and manufacturer, to eliminate the possibility of anything being an issue with the two sets of components that we had installed earlier. We road test and burnish in the brakes and the brakes feel fine to us.Prior to [redacted] I am contacted by you by email and you tell me that both Firestone and the [redacted] dealer said that the vehicle needed all four wheels of brakes. Upon that information, I ask if you are a AAA member, and you said you are. At my suggestion I ask you if I could get the AAA field rep. [redacted] (who handles AAA customers, automotive grievances) to look at your vehicle and look and see if he can validate your concerns and the fact that you were told that it needed al four wheels of brakes, he agrees to look at the vehicle.[redacted] @ 93,215 miles the car is brought to my shop- we drop you off again at your place of work, like we always do. Mr. [redacted] is here, looks at all of the paper work and we bring in the car and inspect our work and inspect the usuable life expectancy of the brake components on the vehicle. Upon his inspection he determines that there is approximately 80% brake life left on the four wheels of brakes. Pictures are taken to prove this fact. Mr. Iozzi then proceeds to take the car on a lengthy road test to determine if there is a brake issue. Upon his return, he states that he could not verify the issue described and could we please bring the car in again so he could look at it again after his road test. All looked fine according to Mr. [redacted] He stated that he was going to contact both of us with his results. I contacted Mr. [redacted] on [redacted] when I received an email from Ms. [redacted] regarding her new issues with the brakes, he states:[redacted],"My last contact with Ms. [redacted] was in [redacted] Being that there was no support documentation from the shop or shops that told her there was a problem, I requested she acquire this documentation and forward it to me. 9 months is a bit of time to know where the vehicle has been or what has been done. Again in her email to you offers no documentation, specs., etc.; if the vehicle was repaired there is nothing to go on, possibly not even used parts. As far as my "arbitration" is concerned it was complete when my inquiry in [redacted] went unanswered."[redacted] Approved Auto Repair Specialist, Automotive ServicesAAA Northeast 110 Royal Little Drive [redacted], RI XXXXX T XXX-XXX-XXXX x2315 F XXX-XXX-XXXX[redacted]@aaanortheast.com AAA.com Copy of his finding letter that he sent to both Ms. [redacted] and myself:Ms. [redacted], I believe you are aware that [redacted] request I inspect your vehicle in order to find an amicable solution to your concerns with the operation of the brakes. This is a process that we offer to our members and our participating facilities upon request who would like a third parties opinion or have a pair of "fresh eyes" look at a situation. I road-tested the vehicle testing it on various surfaces, dry, wet, snow/ice, the vehicle stopped straight and without performing measurements in what I believed to be a satisfactory distance. This was done before and after I physically inspected the brake components themselves. The Car and Driver review of this vehicle states, "The RAV4's braking system was fade-free, but its 70-to-0-mph stopping distances were lengthy, ranging from 189 to 194 feet." This [redacted] provide some understanding of what the factory specifications of the vehicle are for comparison. I visited Southboro Auto Tech on 1/7 and checked your vehicle's brake operation. I found the brake pads, rotors, and attaching parts to in proper operating condition. The brake pads that are the parts that "wear out" over time due to use, are in near new condition as would be expected. The quality of parts are of Original Manufacture's specifications or better, as most aftermarket parts are. Although there was no work performed on the hydraulic system of the vehicle when the brake pads were replaced the facility did flush and bleed the brake hydraulic system, which is an often over-looked maintenance procedure. This procedure was performed again to inspect for presence of air or contaminants of which non were evident. [redacted] stated to me that the vehicle was inspected by numerous other repair facilities that stated there were problems requiring repairs, but no documentation was available. If at all possible, I'd to request of you to obtain the written diagnosis from the facilities in order to see what repairs they are claiming. If one of the facilities was a Toyota dealer, I would think they would have performed a by the book thorough inspection and have the required documentation. Other information that [redacted] be helpful is; explain exactly what you are experiencing with the vehicle, do you notice your concerns consistently or intermittent, are there certain conditions that you experience the concerns. At this point I would like to schedule a road test where I would accompany you to experience first-hand any concerns regarding the braking system, please contact me at your convince. Sincerely,Richard Iozzi Richard Iozzi Approved Auto Repair Specialist, Automotive ServicesAAA Northeast 110 Royal Little Drive Providence, RI XXXXX T XXX-XXX-XXXX x2315 F XXX-XXX-XXXX[redacted]@aaasne.com AAA.com In closing:As per the [redacted] review brakes life expectancy was 80% on or about [redacted] 2015: it is unproven but she had been possibly misled by the facilities she brought the vehicle to due to lack support materials, such as specifications.I cannot comment of her need for brakes recently, due to not viewing the vehicle and lack of support materials, pad measurements, etc. In regards to the "sticky pins Issue" it appears that it was not a problem before she brought the car in to the dealer for service, it only occurred she had the brakes replaced by the dealership; the same dealership who possibly did not provide her with documentation of past service. We requested and had been granted independent inspection by [redacted] a very respected organization of the motoring public. By having [redacted] to look into her concerns, this left Southboro Auto Tech open to Mr. [redacted] findings and judgments, which is binding. We welcomed that inspection, along with it's undetermined outcome, being we were confident that we did nothing wrong, had put on quality parts, and did quality work.Southboro Auto Tech, spent countless hours of time and energy trying to duplicate and or solve her concerns, and would do it again. If at any time we thought there was an issue of any kind, we would have addressed it, especially with brakes. If Ms. [redacted] had returned the "alleged" bad brake parts replaced by the dealer, including all of the documentation, I would have sent them to my supplier and requested credit on her behalf, but I was not afforded the opportunity.[redacted] for the record, we are a [redacted] Approved Auto Repair facility in addition to [redacted] Center, both of those Organizations have a Code of ethics that we have to adhere too. The Technician that did the repair work is an [redacted] certified technician in Brakes, I am as well. We have been here since 1975 repairing cars. I also was just contacted by the "Revdex.com" as being a member in great standing and was asked to get more involved with the "Revdex.com". I feel that we did everything we could to help Ms. [redacted] and her concerns, from road testing the vehicle numerous times, trying to recreate her concerns, to replacing parts that we deemed ok, to calling in "AAA" to check out Ms. Armenios concerns. Please contact me if I be of additional assistance in this matter.Regards, [redacted]Southboro Auto Tech, Inc.Owner, L1, Master Technician145 Boston Rd.Southboro, Ma XXXXX1.508.485.9082[redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)As before, I just really wanted to be done with attempts to get the brakes done correctly. They did make attempts to correct the problem but just kept doing the same thing over & over. I felt they didnt really hear what I was describing as the problem. The pedal hitting the floor was problem #1 and sudden stops where I thought the brakes would not work was problem #2.After having brakes done again by [redacted] I was able to not think I was crazy. All the times before when I said my brakes never felt the way they did until I brought it to [redacted] they would say "well the car is getting older." They did offer the service of picking up & dropping off which I appreciated. But taking pictures of them didnt mean a thing to me since I know nothing about what brakes "look like". I would have done the job myself if I did. So I am releived to have them working correctly again & just want this chapter over. I am willing to let the case be closed because I think they did try but wish they would have looked further to see if there was another problem, not just keep putting in the same parts over & over. I believe AAA had the brakes bled while they were there too but I might be wrong. Not being knowledgable of brake parts, I would assume a brake job to include what it needs to. I am also disappointed to have had to pay [redacted] for brakes over the past 1.5 years. And the mileage is still only 99,900 currently so I havent been raking up the miles. So my intention is not to ruin anyones reputation. It was more about fairness and having to repeat the job somewhere else to get the problem resolved. I gave up on SAT because they never found the problem.
