Complaint[redacted] owner of South Wake Timber Co LLC contacted my wife and I requesting to quote 38.7 acres of standing merchantable timber. He stated there would be no charge for the quotation and we granted permission for him to proceed with the quotation. After receiving his offer, we reviewed the proposal and decided to decline his offer. We received an invoice today requesting payment of $925.00 We would like to know how the company can legally justify requesting payment of this amount for a quotation?Desired SettlementSend a corrected invoice showing no payment is required for the quotationBusiness Response This information was sent in error to the client by an inexperienced office employee who has since been terminated. May 5,2016, sale of timberI signed a contract for the sale of lumber in exchange for a fee of $2000. I was to receive $2000 as soon as I signed the contract. This was on May 5, 2016. I called several times and was told each time the check was in the mail. I sent, the owner, [redacted], has now agreed to terminate our agreement but has not sent my contract back to me with the notice of agreeing to terminate the deal for lack of payment. I need to know that the company will not go onto my land and start cutting tree. I cannot trust someone that does not follow thru on our agreement.Desired SettlementAll I need is a statement of cancellation of our Timber Agreement along with the original signed and notarized contract.Thank you for your efforts.
