Dear Ms***:
I am in receipt of the complaint from the Revdex.com that I received on October 20, as referenced above and I wanted to respond immediately and accordingly. Again, my sincere
condolences and my prayers are with you on the loss of Mr***.
Second, as you and I both know, Mr*** was the Client, not you. Mr*** is the one who signed the Attorney-Client agreement in this matter. The attorney-client agreement was reviewed, discussed and signed by Mr*** during one of the meetings that I had with him. It is not unusual and often times it is the case that family and friends are the ones who may pay the fees for legal services to assist their loved one, as you have done in this case for Mr***. The fees that you have paid are governed by the agreement signed by Mr*** as it was paid under the attorney-client agreement that he signed
Under that agreement, Mr*** agreed that the minimum amount that must be paid for my office to undertake this matter and forgo taking other cases was $2500. It is clearly spelled out in the attorney-client agreement. Therefore there would be no refund due under the attorney-client agreement that Mr*** signed.
Also, please note that I do not customarily discuss a Client’s case with family and friends, unless the Client authorizes it. In this case, Mr*** did authorize me to discuss some of the aspects of his case with you. Unfortunately, your complaint does not include all of the meetings that I had with Mr*** and fails to accurately reflect the length of the meetings as well as everything that occurred with regard to his legal matter. Nonetheless, the attorney-client agreement signed by Mr*** is the controlling document in this matter as the monies that were paid were paid pursuant to that agreement
I would have thought that this information would have been relayed to you by Mr*** but it is apparent that it may not have been. I was also under the impression that this information was relayed to you again based on the information and directions provided to my Legal Assistant.If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me.
